Watching the Bengals pass catchers make plays for their quarterback was wild.

I know recievers have to be given a chance to make plays, but the skill positions for the Bengals on offense look really good. And they make each other look good.

Yes we need improvement at the qb position, but we desperately need improvement from our pass catchers too.
Bengals are going to be a problem

In defense of Baker (yes, he has been awful):
  • Kyler Murray, Russell Wilson, Lamar Jackson, Ryan Tannehill, Dak Prescot (sans last night) have arguably played as bad if not worse than Baker the past 6-8 weeks. The one common denominator is they're all hurt.
  • Baker hasn't had the same OL b2b weeks in 3 months. This has crushed continuity (something he sorely needs to succeed) and has made a complete mess of his footwork.
  • His playmakers aren't doing him any favors. DPJ was held/PI on 2 and especially on that last one, but he has to do a better job of separating from his man. This has been a problem with our pass catchers all fucking year. At some point, the WRs have to make a play.
  • Baker has been hurt since week 2 (don't need to belabor this anymore but it is a fact)
  • Who is the better option? Trading for Russ seems like the most realistic option and it's not all that realistic. But let's humor the idea: the bevy of assets it would take to acquire Russell Wilson would really hamper us filling the holes that need to be fixed (WR, WR, WR, DT, OL, EDGE depth)
I'm all for exploring options. Baker is not some irreplaceable asset but I'm failing to find an upgrade. I also have zero interest in blowing it up and trotting out a rookie or a retread vet. \

This team is good enough to win these close games. I for one think Stefanski/AVP have called some great b2b games here (you could argue they shoulda ran the ball with 3 time outs but again, the play was there to be made and DPJ got held and didn't separate enough - that is not on Baker or the coaches.

I don't wanna he diddly poo about having WR's for Baker. We're not about to sit here on Al Gore's internet and flip the narrative now that it's obvious to anyone who's been watching that Baker is not the guy.

We spent the whole first half of this season listening to people claim that Baker doesn't need a true #1 and he's better suited to distribute the ball to multiple receivers. We had all of this DPJ hype coming into the season after training camp. All we heard was how Jarvis Landry was the heart and soul of the team and that another receiver who is no longer here was a cancer to the team and a detriment to Baker.

We've heard every single narrative to defend this dude. The play calling has been the latest hot button, This comes after claims that Baker is being handcuffed by Kevin Stefanski. We've seen the O-Line get shredded after every subpar QB performance and honestly given all of the shuffling they've had to do on this O-Line I'd say they are not a concern at all.

People have attacked each and every receiver on this team at various points during the season. Our TE's have taken turns getting their share of "blame" too. We've been back and forth on injuries all season.

On top of all of that we the fans have also been un-fairly thrust into the crosshairs by our QB because of his shitty play. How many freaking weeks have the fans had to defend their own fandom because of our emotional ass QB?

Throughout this whole thing I've held off on flat out saying that Baker Mayfield sucks because I don't think that he sucks. I just think that he's average. At this point he might not even be average. He could just be a QB that can only succeed in a specific situation or else he'll look like a backup.

I really do think that we need to move on from this dude and I hope all of the people who laughed at some of the names of potential replacements can see now that maybe they overrated Baker and he's not even as good as some of the Andy Dalton's and Matt Ryan's of the world. It was laughable that Jamies Winston could be an option if we move on from Baker but at this point NO would be doing us a favor. Jimmy G is on a different level of QB play than Baker Mayfield. That's a fact. There's no argument that can even be made there.

Go into this offseason and resolve the QB position as quickly and efficiently as we can. Get our new guy in here so that KS can get him in sync and roll into next year with a real shot at living up to our real potential.

I…just can’t.

Dude just hears a name and thinks they are better with out ever watching them play.

In my observation, most people do not have the ability to do the following two things:

- Say the words “I don’t know”
- Be patient

Scrambling to latch onto something for the sake of doing it — is counter-productive.

I want no part of Watson, but I also don’t see any reason he would agree to a trade here. The only pass catcher who is guaranteed a roster spot next year is DPJ. Hooper will most likely be back too, but I don’t think any QB would be intrigued with the idea of throwing to DPJ and Austin Hooper.

Well the Browns still have a Top 5 offensive line and an elite RB duo...

Berry absolutely and 100% needs to go all in getting receiver help on this team and it doesnt matter who the hell is at QB.

Obviously I am not the Browns, but to me the offseason is pretty easy. Upgrade the receivers as best you can, send Baker back out there next year and see what happens. Baker balls out you tip your cap and sign him. Baker falls on his face and you hope you can find someone better.

Dalton and Winston are injured right now and not playing. Matt Ryan and Jimmy G are healthy and both are playing. Jimmy G and Matt Ryan are both better than Baker Mayfield. If you disagree with that you're either in denial or you're the one who's not watching them play.

It's year 4 and people are still talking about Baker like he has a bunch of untapped potential. This is who he is. 60 games in. This is Baker Mayfield. The fact that every week people scoff at other names as if Baker is playing at a higher level when in reality he's been one the worst starting QB's in the NFL this season.

This is like when everyone laughed at rex Ryan and Colin Cowheard for the things that they said about Baker and ate up all of the comebacks baker had for them when in the end both of them have been right about him.

Jarvis Landry is wide open on a route and Baker throws the ball off his back foot with his ankle sideways and no leverage but yeah a new crop of WR's is going to straighten that footwork right out.

Tell me you didn't watch 49ers vs. Titans without telling me you didn't watch 49ers vs Titans

Baker has played in 13 games this season. He's had at most 4 good games but let's start cherry picking one game from a QB who's clearly better. Oh and if Jimmy G would've played like he played against TEN in some of our games this season we would have more wins.
