So JB corrected Love in front of other guys...and Love says it was the right move and he respects JB for the way he did that.

JB apparently has a rare level of people skill if he can get a vet like Love to buy in to that degree.

This feels like grasping at straws. You're pinning what you think as being reality despite plenty of recent evidence to the contrary.

The Cavs signed Mike Brown to a 5 year (!) contract in 2013.
They signed David Blatt to a 4 year (!) contract in 2014.
They signed Lue to a multi-year deal when he took over around this time 6 years ago.

David Blatt was the head coach of a depleted team that went to game 6 of the NBA Finals and had the best record in the Eastern Conference at the time of his firing.

Dan paid 3 hefty head coaching salaries simultaneously and he didn't bat an eye to do it.

Should the Cavaliers organization decide that JBB's time is up, he'll be gone. There's a heaping pile of evidence that proves it.

In the meantime, rewarding the man who spearheaded this on court turnaround with deserved job security is the right thing to do. It's what any first class organization would do in this same situation.
Then I am pleased.

It’s not my money, obviously, and there are lots of factors determining whether a coach gets retained or fired, but my concern comes from the fact that this franchise has held on to coaches too long BEFORE. And I don’t really get the urgency. We’re not even halfway done with the SEASON. There is still plenty of time for things to go sideways. I mean - we got off to a respectable start LAST year, too…

I thought they held on to Mike Brown way too long. I thought he could have/should have been gone after the 2006-07 season, but then LeBron willed us to The Finals, and then we had the best record in the league in 08-09 and 09-10. Always felt Brown was along for the ride. Was hoping we would make a run at Rick Adelman, after 07, but then we weren’t in the market, and Houston was. Money did not appear to be the issue there; rather, it was the assignment of credit.

If he actually calls himself "K-Love", he needs to be traded. NOW.

We are 20-13.

Last year we were 20-34 when we first logged 20 wins.

This season is not remotely similar to last season.

Still. We’ve play 40% of the season. It’s a small-ish data set.

I wish my bosses gave ME raises and contract extensions after a good two-fifths of a year…

Players win games and coaches lose them.

JBB did his part in keeping the adage relevant tonight.

In terms of game planning, one of the assistants (I think JJ Outlaw) said they may tweak what they do defensively based on matchup but they have everyone on the same page and are committed to their system defensively. I thought they doubled Val a little too much leaving Herbert to get easy cuts to the basket then we saw the barrage of threes from Garrett Temple. Mobley playing off Clark didn't help either as he hit 4/10 from three and most if not all were from the corner. Letting average players go off early never helps, I would rather let Val go for 40. Watching Lauri trying to defend him in the post was pretty comical though lol.

Must have walked away when this happened but why did Lauri miss the final stretch?

Because he looked like he was shooting blindfolded?

Valanciunas is an old school bruiser. Not many of those left in the League. The Cavs have nobody who can defend a guy like that in the low post. Not Allen, not Lauri and definitely not Mobley (he'd be in mortal danger).

JV should be a major defensive liability these days. Problem is, your bigs have to make their outside shots to punish the Pels for playing Valanciunas. In the 2nd half, we couldn't do that. Hell, Lauri hasn't made a 3pt shot in like two weeks.

Now is when jbb show if he has a system in place and rally the group. I have faith in him let’s goooo
