2022 NBA Draft Safari

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Interesting to me that a guy I’m liking more and more, Jeremy Sochan, is touching the lotto.

But yeah, if the crop of wings that fall to the 20s in this mock happens in real life the Cavs are winners.
This guy is new too me. I looked at a bad picture of him and made a poor face/body language judgement.

Then I listened to him talk.

Cool English accent? Check

Born in grew up in Poland/Polish mother. What?! Awesome. Get him some Cleveland Pierogis stat

Both parents played basketball.

Arsenal fan. Ehhh.

As far as his game, is his defense really good or just a product of s strong defensive system and culture at Baylor?
Not a great athlete from what I watched. A little worried about having too many subpar to average offensive players and relying too much on Garland and Mobley for all the points. Seems like more of a SF/PF then a SG/SG/wing.

Granted, this is all from watching just one 2 minute video from a game against McNichols state.

Isaiah Mobley, 11 pts, 7 reb, 4 ast, 2 stl, 4 blk

Some bastard team is gonna get him before we do, aren't they?

Some mock drafts dont even have him being drafted at all.

Im fantasizing more and more about a Garland - TyTy partnership.

Creation, all the passing, all the shooting. He has the size I think to be a nice 2.

I think if we can create the Rubio - DG combo with a player long term, that's a huge win.

I’d honestly forget about the draft. The Cavs are gonna be picking so low that we’re going to get a G-league developmental type of player regardless. If we develop the guy we may have something in a couple of years.

You aren't going to find many people who agree with you.

Every draft we see late 20s/early 2nd round pick upper classmen who come in and have an instant impact in the NBA.

One could argue a huge reason for the Grizzlies jump this season is as much about their high pick hits (Ja, JJJ) as it is about their late 1st/2nd finds that made an impact from day 1 (Bane, Brooks, Clarke).

This is a draft projected to be loaded with tons of varying talent with a good bit of experience at the college level at the Cavs most obvious area of need, on the wing.

No concerns about Ty Ty's lack of burst?

If I'm drafting him to be one of the main few pieces or a focal point, sure a little.

But with us.. he'd be more attacking off secondary actions and on d the bigs can cover for him if he gets beat by quick guys.

That's why it's an ideal fit right, we could absolutely maximize his strengths and are well equiped for the concerns.

And just generally I like smart players who can play on ball and off ball. Plus smarts over athleticism.

Many of the guys who are projected to declare (Houstan, Griffin, Watson, Baldwin, Dieng, & Nzosa) have had disappointing seasons thus far and I'd honestly be surprised if they declared for the draft. They need more seasoning and need to play. Maybe they declare and hope to get that time in the G-league? Other guys, like Keegan Murray, Johnny Davis, Jeremy Sochan, Christian Koloko, Trevor Keels, & Blake Wesley have surprised and look more poised to make the jump.

Watching Mobley brother Isaiah play Oregon State , I’m totally not impressed with him, he probably need to go a head and finish his years at USC, I will not waste a high 2nd for him…….Wouldnt surprise me if he went undrafted if he came out this year….

For the folks wanting TyTy Washington, where are you envisioning him with Collin Sexton? Or are you assuming Collin won't be back? I'll admit I haven't done a ton of looking into him, but im less than excited about a SG who isn't at least prototypical size for his position (6'5" for SG)...

They typically just come out. Very few prospects spend extra years in college. If they struggle another season the hype is over. Most of the guys you named will likely declare.

Second half of the St. Johns-Georgetown game is on now on Fox(at least were I live) if anyone wants to watch Champagnie.
