HOF 2022 ballot

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
In 2017, the BBWAA voted in the former Baseball Commissioner who presided over the Steroid Era, Bud Selig..

Any member of the BBWAA that voted Bud Selig in but refuse to vote in Arod, Manny, Barry, Clemens, etc.. etc.. are hypocrites and not deserving or any honors or support or, most importantly, to decide who is or isn't HOF worthy.. That means:

-No visitation to Cooperstown, the surrounding villages and points of interest..

-No purchase of chachkeys and paraphenalia from the HOF...

No support of ANY kind.. spiritually or financially..

Everyone is permitted their say/opinion on the matter.. but only the HYPOCRITS opinions matter.. pretty damn sad..

THE END..
Could not agree with this more.

Omar vs Ozzie...

Probably too close to call, but Omar made ridiculous plays on bad bounces. Ozzie seldom saw a bad hop.

Because he played on turf, Ozzie played much deeper, which gave him more range, even with faster moving balls. On the other hand, ranging farther away from second base made it harder to turn a double play.

Omar made a lot fewer errors and was part of a lot more DPs.

There is another factor you have to take into things, the fact that Ozzie was able to get to more balls cause of his range and he was an overall better athlete. That my tiebreaker
So Vizquel had less athleticism but still had better results than Smith. Gotcha. Thanks for helping me prove my point.

Look at all the factors... main difference between Smith and Vizquel was their range factors. Smith, almost his entire career was over 5 while Vizquel was around 4.6-4.7 which was almost the norm league wise... Now as some people have said, sometimes it was cause of the turf/vs grass and other factors, but Smith had extremely good numbers and also wasn't he known for always doing backflips at games? My point is, Smith could get to more balls than vizquel could. Anything vizquel got to though he rarely made any mistakes. So it's range vs no errors... which one is more important to you?

Did he make the out.. or not.. otherwise.. defensive metrics are unscientific and biased..

Too bad he ever got a vote if that is the kind of ballot he will turn in !!!

So you don't think Buehrle or Hudson should be in? I mean overall very few people from 2000 on will have better overall numbers...

Maybe he only gets one vote as a rookie?

Just kidding, maybe he's a troll.

Disappointing announcement by the BBWAA.. only a steroid user voted in.. thankfully, the old timer and new era committees have the ability to right this disappointing result..

It’s a joke to keep Barry Bonds out of the HOF. Even more so when they voted in a guy like David Ortiz. Bonds is probably the best player in baseball history. What’s a HOF without the best? The pearl-clutching voters will ignore the fact that players throughout history did all kinds of suspect shit but claim they’re about the ‘sanctity of the game.’

My view on the HOF:

First, congrats to Big Poppy. One of the greatest clutch players of all time.

Now, on to what's everybody talking about, instead of Ortiz.
Bonds and Clemens have run out of time. They will be in the HOF someday. Either when they are elderly or dead.
I understand all the arguments. I think these players need to be included, with some sort of asterisk.

The Baseball HOF is a jewel. It is a remarkable and intriguing museum of baseball history. It gives me chills just thinking about it. The area where the players plaques are is like a church.

Now, imagine visiting the HOF with your grandson in about 10 years. You pass the plaques of all the HOF'ers, (like Harold Baines). You see items on display for Bonds, Rose, and Clemens, but no induction plaques.
Your grandson asks why players like Bonds, Clemens, and Rose are not included. Even though the majority of voters voted for them. Just not 75% of them. Good luck explaining that.
It has long been my idea that the HOF needs a separate wing for "Outstanding Players". The purpose of this wing would be to better explain the story of baseball. This wing would not only include the steroid users and gamblers, but also players who were very good, but didn't make it in for whatever reason. Players like Bo Jackson, Albert Belle, or Kenny Lofton.

Believe me, I've got more stories to tell about Albert Belle than I do about Harold Baines.

You are entitled to your opinion and completely respect it as I don't think there is a right answer here but for me I have no issue with it because MLB didn't do a thing about it.

Just to reiterate a point that has been made before -- MLB itself could not unilaterally take action against PED's without the consent of the Players Association, which for a long time strongly opposed effective testing.
