Should I pretend nothing changed in amateur sports for 80 years?
I'm not trying to be an asshole here... Like, have you met a lacrosse player in the past three generations?
I get zero Jim Brown vibes.
We'll, when I was in school, I knew a lot of those guys. Our lax players - including our best player - was probably 1/3 black. Still remember the guy:

A lot of the rest of the guys were middle class/working class white dudes from Long Island. It was more of a regional thing than anything else - very popular in Long Island and Maryland.
