While it was never *likely* to happen, it's still a bit anticlimactic to think you have a shot at *both* ARob and Watson and realize you get neither... #WhompWhomp

Am I wrong to assume that even with Watson Carolina are a fringe playoff team at best this coming season?

And given the price in draft picks, that it is hard to see them becoming a Super Bowl contender in the next three years?

Do they have the cap space to dramatically improve from four straight losing seasons, and mixed draft grades since their new owner came in?

=========

New Orleans has fielded a great team for a decade, but how well placed are they to be contenders with Watson?

How much success was on the HoF QB and acknowledged great HC Payton?

They have had cap space issues, how many assets do they have to improve?

=========

Are either of them better placed to be immediate SB contenders than the Browns over the next three years?*

Why exactly CAR and the Saints? Why not a few other teams much better placed to win, who are only really a QB from serious contention?

What exactly is Watson's criteria if winning is not one of them, aside from weather?

And if winning is not his primary priority, and given his off the field issues, should one question his decision making process?

Can Watson believe it's not butter?

Is Ben Rapistburger wearing pants at this very moment?

*I'm using three years because that is the scope of the winning team in the Watson sweepstakes having few if any picks in the first two rounds of the draft.

Depth guy all the way. Playing the five tech in a 3-4 requires a lot of engagement and shedding blocks. We know that isn't going to work for Bryan, he is better as an attacking player.

Sounds like we are taking a flier on a very athletic DT... Low risk signing for the most part.

Good. Until shown otherwise, the offense we run does not justify a massive cap outlay to the WR position. That's not a knock. With good QB play and healthy WR's they should be impactful. but we just feature so much running and then so much pass action to RB's and TE's to justify multiple big investments in WR.

Cooper, DPJ, and Schwartz us the starting point. Schwartz needs to be no higher than our 4th best WR. So they need to add a cheaper reliable WR in FA and then add (likely) slot WR in the draft.

While I prefer DT or DE at 13, I would be willing to take WR (Burks or Wilson) there, since while still a big asset investment, it represents a cheap cap investment for the next 4-5 years and we do not know how long Cooper will be here.

But I just can't see Cooper AND another big money WR here under Stefanski. This is not a roster/offesnive play style for 40M in WR cap allocation.
Not that anything has changed it so far, but think Browns ideal scenario right now would be to come away with Walker/Karlaftis at 13, and then Logan Hall/Travis Jones at iDL and George Pickens at WR in round 2/3 with some trades...

A guy thought to be a fit -- that's a lot of money:

Another starting DT off the board. Gonna be interesting how they eventually settle that position.

Pinning our hopes on the development of Jordan Elliott and Tommy Togiai. :oops:

So if Josina’s tweet is true, who are the “more” teams?

Pittsburgh would obviously take him, but if they thought that door was open wouldn’t they wait to sign Trubisky?

Miami is out with no Flores. AFC South is out.

Only realistic teams I imagine are us and Philly?

Edit: forgot the Jets
Philadelphia?
