Sign me up for this fucking guy. Who played in the most QB friendly system in the NFL with weapons galore and still was average to below average. Not to mention can’t even stay healthy for a single season

Carr is 30......while he's certainly not exiting his prime, Mayfield is 3+ years younger.

I understand the connection with Baker and McDaniels dating back to when Baker was drafted but that was 4 years ago. I just feel like with the way things played out for CLE and LVR last season that Josh McDaniels is too smart to make that move.

Baker looks toxic right now. Derek Carr is a stand up guy by all accounts. he's consistent and his been a pillar for that franchise. I can't see Josh McDaniels being cool with swapping that out for Baker considering Baker's status right now. Derek Carr owns that locker room. They can't move on from that and go to a guy like Baker who lost his locker room.

Mahomes, Allen, Rodgers, Brady, Herbert, Stafford, Burrow, Murray, Wilson, Prescott, Jackson

Ignoring Carr, Cousins, etc.......which 2 of the 11 QB's above is it remotely realistic Mayfield will be better than?

This is even setting aside the QB's that will come in to the league over the next 2 drafts that will be better than him too.......so he probably needs to be better than 4-5 of those guys to be a top 10 QB moving forward. So put it on paper which ones.

Baker has only played like a top 10 QB for a stretch of 10 out of his 60 games.

Guys, he just needs ONE more year! THIS is the year he FINALLY fixes his footwork, stops forcing throws into coverage, starts to go through his progressions, stops getting balls batted down at the line, and sees his wide open receivers!

He just needs one more year in Stefanski's offense!!!

The biggest question is how is Baker in the locker room? If Mayfield is still immature and not a leader and Carr is, then we are better of in the end.

That's fine. I will take comparable talent without the immaturity/emotional issues that Baker saddles us with. Then we can groom a rookie in the background without worrying about hurting someone's feelings.

Carr is 12th overall in EPA/play on 3rd and 4th downs and 24th in 3rd Q/4th Q/OT over that same time period..

Baker was 29th in EPA/play on 3rd and 4th downs and 36th in 3rd Q/4th Q/OT over that time period..

Carr provides them a guy who can make plays a QB is needs to make throughout the game.. Baker has shown an inability to produce on passing downs and in clutch situations..
