Aren't most of the allegations beyond that? He allegedly pushed his penis against a lot of these women and/or forced their hands to touch him. If he was just asking for happy endings there wouldn't be lawsuits.

No, quite the opposite. Anybody can file a suit. I have no clue about any of the supposed facts, however.

22 different women - not incidents. Who knows how many times this happened, and if you read about what happened during these incidents with these women it's about as cringe as anyone could be. DW gets paid enough to pay for sex if he wants/needs. He shouldn't have to be weird about it. I'm creeped out by our ownership for thinking this was a good idea. Anyone celebrating today shouldn't be surprised when this happens again down the road.

All of that may be true, but what also appears to be true is that you are not a fan of due process.

Wait- we’re retaining our cap space entirely?

"The Browns will need $35 million in cap space to execute this trade. We currently estimate that they have about $16 million. If they can not unload Baker Mayfield and his $18.828 million salary as part of this trade they will either have to quickly find a trade partner for him or make some other adjustments. They can open up around $15 million in a max restructure of Amari Cooper’s contract and beyond that would likely have to get Denzel Ward to tack void years onto his contract. Another option would be to release Case Keenum with the intent of signing him once Watson’s new contract and lower cap number are finalized. The Browns will open up $9.5 million in cap room on June 2nd so they have plenty of cap room coming in the future."

So the process will be a bit tricky, but Browns have to open up about $35 million in cap space to take on Watson then the restructuring/signing of his new deal will open up cap space and he'll only count for around $10million-ish on the 2022 cap if initial numbers are accurate..

Browns had around $16M of cap space pre Anthony Walker, Chris Hubbard and Jakeem Grant signings.. Rough estimate, they would take up around $8 million (let's be safe) for next year's cap.. That would bring it to $8 million.. However then trading Baker would bump them up $26 million.. So Browns would need to find another $10 million to process the trade..

Browns could easily restructure Cooper's deal to get that space.. Any Ward or Njoku extension would also lower their cap hit too..

However, once they open up that $35 million in cap space and then restructure Watson with his new deal, you're looking at $25 million in initial cap space and than an additional $9 million post June 1 with Hooper's cut..

So they would have plenty of room for Clowney, Fuller and then some...

:chuckle:

I also didn't know that Baker is actually older than Deshaun by a few months. So maybe if Baker was really that dude, we'd still be here (albeit with less of a cloud over the team in the immediate future).

That the Browns gave up no players, still have 5 picks this draft, and still have a 1st rounder this year? Man. Plus the cap management.
Andrew Berry might go down as the GOAT.

Unless I missed something, we don't have a first round pick this year.

For context, I’d like to share a recent story from south of the equator.

As some of you know, our native sport in Australia is the “AFL” — Australian Rules Football. The team I support down here — Collingwood — features a star player by the name of Jordan De Goey. Late last year, he took a trip out to New York where — likely high or intoxicated — he groped a bunch of women in a nightclub. It wasn’t the first time these kinds of allegations had been reported.

Last night, Collingwood played their first game of the season — De Goey starred, was the best player on the field and was cheered and lauded.

Here’s a quick sequence of events in order of news reports, dating back to last year.

This is a universal, human issue, and is a reflection of systemic sports/music/Hollywood/entertainment culture where “we” tolerate our “heroes” as long as they bring us joy in the things we love.
