Game Thread | 2021-2022 Season | Game #75 | Magic @ Cavs | March 28, 2022 | 7:00 p.m.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
X rays negative thank god but oh my his impact on the defensive end is night and day when Mobley is on the court wow I take back what I said I’m an idiot

This isn't to shit on mobley. He's been great and will be great.

But they went from Mobley at C to Markennen and Love.

The 6 minutes Brown was in the defense went to an ok level in the paint.

So that's just more who the Cavs decided to play as opposed to Mobley himself.

Just think if we had a halfway competent coach and the refs weren’t out to screw us every game we’d be pushing 55 wins. Maybe 60.
Like most coaches, there is room for improvement and I will be looking for that next season to see if he can grow with the players as they mature from young pups to NBA Pros.

I will not discount the imrpovements already made by the players, coaches, and FO. Especially give then youth of the majority of the roster, the massive amount and timing of injuries, and some overall roster balance issues that existed even before some critical injuries occurred.

People say I think JBB makes no mistakes or is some magical coach and that is the furthest thing from the truth. But I value the overall job he has done this season while having my attention key in on the subsequent seasons to see how the team and coach grow together. That is not inconsistent with anything I have said about him all season.

I want so badly for them to have a true playoff series, regardless of whether they win and advance, love in 6 or 7, or get swept/gentlemens sweep. The playoff intensity and game planning that happens with a static opponent in a 7 game series is critical for development and I hope it occurs as soon as possible

Ok so we were saved by the Magic openly tanking.

LeVert was bad. Really bad.

I am truly amazed that the coach was essentially forced to play Brown, watched him give the team a much needed boost for 6 minutes and then simply wasn't gonna play him again. If the Magic play their starters down the stretch, we probably lose and would have deserved it.

Like I get these aren't the players you like, brother. but they're the dudes you have and playing guys continuously out of position, battling with players bigger and stronger and asking them to do more than they're capable ALL OF THE TIME is going to get players hurt. It just will.

I'm really grateful that guys let it all out in the game threads and I come specifically for that.

@InBoobieWeTrust taking it to JBB keeps me optimistic that his shortcomings are not being ignored and will be addressed/developed

@Rich being somewhat of a curmudgeon and letting the air out of balloons with very nuanced takes that are not easy to deconstruct/counter keeps me grounded even in my most optimistic game experiences

@red. Being a unfailing DG the PG optimist who has a good eye for PG talent kept me hopeful through the early days of Garlands developmental gauntlet

@stickboltman being an unapologetic RRJ participant who pushes us to keep making content by engaging no matter what so I had to mention him just because... and so on...

I wouldn't change a goddammit thing about the extremes, impulsive reactions or unfiltered takes. KEEP THEM COMING

I come into a game thread and I'm fully expecting nothing less.

Feel like Sam walking into Cheers and expecting Diane to talk poetry, Norman to talk accounting, Carla to pick on Diane and Coach to be Coach.

Rules of the board stand of course (personal attacks, name calling, socially insensitive, and all that frowned upon) but the game threads... that's where we are supposed to let the hot darts fly and then have fun calling each other out on the extreme takes gone bad or victory lapping the extreme takes/prophecies which come to fruition

Last guy out, wipe off the bar and turn the lights out.

Good-win tonight

Gritty effort by the Cavs at the end. Good Markk was able to come back, the game started to turn around for the Cavs after that. DG made nice moves. But now we are all waiting for the update about Mobley.

Exactly what I said. As usual, you've nailed it. Well done.

Since you're always busting my ass despite my ignoring you for two straight months, how about another Windler hot take, genius.
Why are you madder than Will Smith ? We won. Without Moses or Goodwin playing much.

Also, I praised Windler highly and said he should get the JYD chain. There’s my Windler hot take. I change my tune if the players or team change while you appear to be stuck on melancholy mood music.

Fact is you said JBB would keep getting players injured if they played too much or out of position. The only player really hurt tonight was Mobley, and he came down on another player’s foot. But whenever we win you have to come up with your Debbie Downer take right after the game. That’s ok, post whatever you want, but don’t be shocked if others think your music is a bit discordant. If you like I can send you a box of Snickers bars.

Garland +15 tonight. There have been quite a few boxscores like this in the past weeks when he is between +8 and +17 and we literally get plastered in the minutes he's off the court.

I know were ragging on LeVert but he is not supposed to be the backup PG. Shows how crucial the Rubio injury was and the lack of Rondo ever getting in groove due to injury is.

Having the backup PG situation nailed down next year is critical. They should have Garland, a true backup PG from day one, one or both of Sexton and LeVert and I'd like to see Rubio back and rehabbing with us as well. Have to have multiple ball handlers and offense initiators next year set up to start the season on the roster.

Really good chance we only get 1 win in the next 6 games.
