I look at it like this. Deshaun Watson is going to be here for 8-10 years. So is this the best WR room he could walk into in year one? No. But it's not all about year one,While I'm sure all the, um, youthful WRs are nice and all, we can't seriously be thinking of spending a quarter billion dollars and 3 day one drafts for Deshaun Watson and then handing him Amari Cooper plus a bunch of "whosits?" at wideout, can we? Though I much prefer drafting WRs in rounds 1 and/or 2, we now really need to be aggressive in free agency at the position IMO.
And even so, it's a timing based offense. Cooper is a stud route runner. Bell is thought to be the same.
TE, OL, and RB room better than anything Watson had in HOU
Additionally, if you believe that Mayfield was missing reads and missing throws, than how can you completely write off DPJ and Schwartz. Browns coaches and FO have watched those two in practice and games for 2 and 1 year now respectively and they may believe they have more n those two than the fanbase and public thinks.
