Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I take Duncan over Steph, Shaq, Dr J an Kobe...an funny how he left off Lebron.

Silly
Ugh!!!! Duncan over The Doctor??? I love The Big Fundamental (one of my all time favorites) but there are very few players in this game past and present that I would take over the Doctor!

Dr J was very entertaining, but he wasnt the best player on a championship team, that was Moses Malone who won both the regular season and finals MVP and was criminally under rated.

Duncan won 5 championships and could be argued he was the best player on 3 or 4 of them.

I love Dr J, but he isnt a top 10 player and Duncan is at this point. Giannis and some others still playing might squeezer him out, but come on, Dr J over Duncan as an all around player?

Are we ignoring the 74 and 76 finals?

Are we talking Top Ten of all time? Then Duncan isn’t either! My man…..Duncan couldn't compare to the Doctor’s skill and athleticism. I absolutely looooooved Duncan but better than Dr J???? Oh hell no!!! And please don’t start putting Giannis or any other player in this generation except maybe LBJ in the same category as the Doctor….and yes I’m including Durant.

I love Dr J, and his athleticism was incredible, but imo Duncan is a borderline top 10 all time, and Dr J is borderline top 20. Its not an insult, its just how i see it. He came over to the NBA at 26, stil in his prime, best season 27 points, 7.4 points and 4.6 assists. Really good, no doubt. That was 2 years before his title. Duncan's best year was 25.5 points, 12.7 rebs, 3.7 assisits and 2.6 blocks.

Compare in points and assists, but blows Dr J away in Rebounds and blocks. Dr J was the better offensive player, but its close, but Duncan is an all time great defender and I love 2 way players.

I havent decided how history will look at Durant. It was a bitch move joining GS, but Durant is a top 10 talent for sure, just a very beta attitude. Giannis's career is only half way through, extreme potential for him to crack the top 10.

I know Dr J dominated the ABA, but its a lesser league, its like counting Euro stats to me. He has one NBA MVP 1 championship, zero finals MVP, that went to Moses.

Duncan has 2 NBA MVP's, 5 titles and 3 finals MVPs. We can agree to disagree, but dont act like my opinion that Tim Duncan is a better overall player than Julius Erving is crazy or even an insult to Dr J, they are both all time greats and any team would be lucky to have them.

Lesser league???
It’s clear you never watched the ABA!! Where do you think Moses Malone came from? Ice Man George Gervin, Rick Barry, George McGinnis, Artis Gilmore, Connie Hawkins, Spencer Haywood, David Thompson….just to name a few!! All of these players infused new excitement into the NBA when it was struggling! And oh BTW brought the three point shot into existence.

Dirk Niwitzki, Both Gasol, Giannis, Tony Parker, Jokic, Doncic, ect...Where do you think these guys came from? The Euro League. Look the ABA was good, but it was a lesser league. Maybe not as lesser as the Euro league vs NBA today, but plenty of stars came over from Europe too.

Dr J, Rick Barry, Connie< Gervin and Gilmore Stared over there, Moses, and few others played a year or 2 and moved over to the NBA. They were a good league but nowhere near the competition of the NBA top to bottom, even in the 70's

I am guessing you were a fan of a certain ABA team, and i was born 1972, so you are right, i didnt watch it, but I am aware of its existence. And i was a huge DR J fan, just because i think Duncan is a better overall player doesnt mean i am hating on Julius.

I hope the Jazz stay in-house and hire Alen Jansen, he did a good job as the Canton Charge head coach. Seems like he’s been in Utah for a little while now waiting for this opportunity.
Donovan Mitchell may as well be running the coaching search. I heard he was close with the Knicks assistant, Johnnie Bryant, so don’t be surprised if he gets the job.

No I was born and raised in Cleveland but went to college (1972) in Indiana so I went to a lot of Pacers games. It was a lesser league because it didn’t have the media exposure the NBA did. The Nets were actually an original ABA team. Tim Duncan was great but his overall game couldn’t match Dr J’s game (open or half court).

Love Dr J but he is a comfortable top 20 all time player. Duncan is a top 10 and I wouldnt call you crazy if you had him top 5. Not close at all imo

I wanted to see what 10 players you have Duncan included with and what 19 players you have over the Dr J but I actually pulled up the Top 75 (ranked) and I can only disagree with two but this list was complied by people more knowledgeable than me ;)

1 Michael Jordan
2)LeBron James
3) Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
4) Magic Johnson
5) Wilt Chamberlain
6)Bill Russell
7)Larry Bird
8) Tim Duncan
9)Oscar Robertson
10) Kobe Bryant
11) Shaquille O'Neal
12) Kevin Durant
13) Hakeem Olajuwon
14) Julius Erving
15) Moses Malone
16)Stephen Curry
17) Dirk Nowitzki
18)Giannis Antetokounmpo
19) Jerry West
20)Elgin Baylor
In looking at the top 20 where Dr J is ranked #14 I believe he should have been ahead of Durant and Duncan (again not sure we chose these players….must be smarter than me) but I do not believe Durant or Giannis should have been in Top 20. Again just my opinion.
