2022 NBA Draft Safari

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Majority of the board will not love this as Spinella/Box and One have three SG's as their choice (Davis, Agbaji, Branham)

Spinella seems to think that Davis, as the lone wolf/best offensive player by a country mile on Wisconsin, took a lot of hard shots that he would not have to take next to Garland. He also lauds Davis for being a plus defender who never took plays off even though he was also a high usage energy burner on offense for Wisconsin. He has Davis as #10 on his big board.

Not enough to convince me, but I like when guys lay out their case for why they like a player because it allows for accountability when you check back after 2-3 years.

Box and one has a video of the central division break down of each team. They had a graphic of the Cavs roster broken down by position, the graphic didn't have Sexron. I think they don't have a good sense of how the Cavs play each player. They basically had Garland as the lone PG and LeVert as the lone SG. They seem to think we are loaded at SF and need a SG depth. They listed Okoro as a SG along with Cedi, Windler, and Stevens. They had Markkanen listed as a PF with Love, Mobley, and Wade. Then Allen was the lone center.

This is what they had, which I think most of the board would disagree with.

PG: Garland
SG: Levert
SF: Okoro, Cedi, Windler, Stevens
PF: Markkanen, Mobley, Love, Wade
C: Allen

When having 4 small forwards means you have no small forwards. :chuckle:
I still have developmental hope for both Okoro and Stevens. Just that Okoro as a SG and Stevens as a SF.

Their volume and % from 3P has gone up from year one to year two. Need to see an increased volume, lack of hesitation, and of course improved make % again from both of them. There is some hope for one or high of them ti be very solid rotational 3&D players. Just don’t see either ever being the solution as a starter, so Hopefully we acquire a SF who makes those two only necessary as deep rotation pieces.

Cedi and Windler can get gone.

One thing I found interesting about this pod was that in discussion of the second rounders I heard the name Max Christie mentioned. I know someone on this board was VERY high on him well before the draft. Would be interesting if the Cavs actually picked him.

I'm the (only?) Max Christie fan on this board.

Windhorst is reporting that Charlotte is willing to trade Gordon Hayward & attach the 13th or 15th pick for cap relief.

Interesting, would probably require a team with the cap space to absorb him now, I don’t know if just an expiring contract would do it. Because I’d personally flip LeVert and Osman for Hayward and the pick immediately partly because I like Hayward and think he could contribute and be a great fit ifhealthy(BIG IF)..and he has a good relationship with our ownership.

But I think they’re probably looking for immediate relief in order to come off of a lottery pick.

If I were the Lakers I’d take a shot in Westbrook for Hayward straight up without the picks or maybe they could get a future lotto protected first? Hayward healthy with Bron and AD could maybe do something if health went the right way.

Seems like an OKC play though. They could have 2, 12 and 13 and I think that have a late first too. They could own the draft lol, and then rehab Hayward and retrade him for another first at the deadline or next summer after he spends a season putting up 20-5-5 on 47/38/84 or something.

If Jovic ends up in Denver, AC is gonna be a must listen for the Nuggets-Cavs games.

Love AC and really every game is a must-listen with him in the booth!

So will everytime Denver is on TNT with Barkley [sic]:
