Actually surprised that PD had an article worth posting (more than what we discuss) ... mainly for our FO comments on our top prospects

But, here is the kicker of their window with our talent ... note his use of ultimately ... not burning our prospects to win playoffs now ... maybe rental to win is my read...

“We want to win today, but ultimately we want to win in the playoffs and be a winning team, and we’re hoping that these guys can help us do it,” Harris said.

I think by 24, we are a legit World Series contender, so this season/part of next, we figure out the talent while looking but not over paying for All-Stars then in 24, is when the budget increases and we make sure we fill in all holes and go all in...

Harris unlikely to publicly provide anything but glowing reports on any prospect in the system...lol.

If we're not then we should be real close. There are going to be a lot of difficult decisions to be made between now and then so it will be interesting to see the cream rise to the top. There are a couple of obvious holes right now, but if one takes the time to look forward you can see some of these talented prospects making a huge difference if they can translate their success. Very exciting time to be a Guardians' fan even if it can be a bit frustrating.

“On occasion we probably need to put him in center, too, because you don’t know where the opportunity is going to be for him,” Harris said.

Shots fired, Mr Straw...

I'm extremely ready to see what Brennen can do. I'm not saying he's the end all, be all to anything, but he's got a good skill set and is performing out of this world. Question is how would Tito get him AB?

At this rate, I think there's a good chance he's the opening day catcher for 2023.
I think we will see Lavastida go first, assuming he hasn't been traded..

I get more of a Marson/Santana arrangement vibe from the "current" setup. But Naylor can certainly jump (back?) ahead of Lavastida with a strong showing in AAA.

Heck, when Lavastida is ready for game action I wouldn't complain if we dumped/traded Maile and give Bryan a shot at regular playing time.

Depends on his defensive skills

Naylor will be fine, his numbers all look good and he is handling very good pitchers in the minors. I don't see why he would have any issues. I question Lavastida's defense more than Naylor's plus Alomar is one of the best catching coaches around... I have a hunch we will retain Hedges in some capacity.

Did I read somewhere that his defense was ahead of his offense last season and that he is right close to ready defensively?

If I remember right, Bimbo said recently that Lava will get first crack at roster. He also said at beginning of the season that even w Cleveland's focus on defensive catchers, both would be ready in a pinch ... which many argued if he meant hold their own per Cleveland high standards or ready/finished product to which he said Tito had no problem per his standards playing Lava for Maile inj (give or take some of my aging recollection) and I infer about same for Naylor.

Yeah, but can you believe me and my overly positive outlook on things?

I know I do... Lava has all the upside, just not game experience. If he won't improve being around Alomar and Hedges everyday if he's up in the bigs, then it's on him since what better resource learning about the position could you have?
