Garland is in really good shape physically. Very excited for this upcoming season. I know it was important to him to increase his stamina and ability to take contact in the lane. I wanna see him go into guys and finish more instead of falling down so much like he did last year(still got the bucket tho!!). But I think he can increase his free throw rate, get a bunch of and-1s and even get better lift on his jumper late in games even though he was pretty money late in games last year to start with.

I think he’s more than just an all star. I think he’s one of the premier guards in the NBA. I think he’s on the path to superstardom.

I know he has his detractors on here but I love me some Obi and I still wish we could get him on this team!

DG already looks stronger physically than last year. If he can maintain this for the entire season, he’s gonna have a special year ahead.

Garland had said multiple times this season he’s gunning for that All-NBA this year, and I think he’s capable of making it.
what if the cavs stays healthy.... garland gets to 26, mobely gets to 20 and sexton gets 17 all at a 57+ TS?.....and then the cavs get lucky wiht harrison and the 30 year old ironman...who doesnt drink and in all likelihood doesnt smoke.... puts up 50/40 with a 62 TS like he did two years ago all the while the cavs sporting a top 4 defense.....

41 games?.....hahahaha...shits hilarious

garland/barnes followed by sexton/lauri?....all four guys 47/37s andcapable of putting up 20 points on any given night?....fukn nasty...efficient...deep

I'll bet you you can't make a post without mentioning Harrison Barnes...

sorry.....this team is so close....you can make an argument taht harrison is not even a one year.....he cuold be like ironman thad who was productive well into his early 30s......if teh cavs sign him to 2 year 30....you have low 30s spread over him and lauri for the majority of teh championship run....how much better is middleton over lauri/harriiosn?.....and you have 5+mm left over while getting more minutes covered at the 3

Absolutely unreal to see the change in Garland's confidence over the past 12-18 months. He's a different guy on the court, and in my opinion that has become the biggest difference. The skills were always there, but now he carries himself in a way that puts them on full display.

You mentioned Barnes again, but I digress...

I guess where we differ is I *dont* think this team is "so close" to anything but making the playoffs. Could they make a fluke run this year like Atlanta did in 20-21? Sure, but I also think they'll revert to mean like that same Hawks team did in 21-22.

This is the most talented team the Cavaliers have had on the same timeline this century. However, they're also young as hell and still have some glaring weaknesses. Players don't typically reach their prime years until 27-30yrs old, and no one in the starting lineup at the beginning of the season was old enough to rent a hotel room or car without a guaradians signature. Even adding Levert to the starting lineup, he'd be the only guy reaching his prime.

I dont get why folks keep wanting to accelerate the timeline on these guys. This team is going to be good. They're going to be fun to watch. They're just not ready to compete for ECFs, let alone championships yet. In 2yrs, maybe. Definitely not now.
