That's how several other notable contracts that the Browns have handed out recently have been set up, as well. Someone can correct me, but I'm pretty sure Denzel Ward just signed something very similar.
Per cleveland.com

Denzel: $1,035,000
Hooper: $1,500,000
Myles: $1,035,000
Chubb: $1,200,000
Teller: $1,500,000

Watson: $1,035,000

Question that I’m unclear on the answer to - what day will the appeal process be complete and will we get the final suspension (barring a lawsuit) from the new judge?

I think someone in here said it's generally however long the NFL wants to take but technically the fine print says it has to be "expedited", which means no new evidence or testimony can be presented. The NFL has all it needs to decide right now.

That video had 782 views on it. How the fuck did you find it?

That’s gotta be @RchfldCavRaised in that car somewhere.

I saw it in real time a couple years ago and this morning when I woke up, I just had a calmness in the middle of this shit storm.

100% sure we will see our first NFL championship in the next 3 years

You cannot show remorse easily when in CIVIL cases that would be used against you; I would bet his attorneys advised against that. Judge him once cases are over and behind him and what he does in the community going forward. Judge him that some weirdo situation like this doesn't happen again.

Wouldn't any QB you trade for ultimately be the guy that gets you fired if you don't succeed?

For me, i don’t believe I could ever even begin to consider rooting for the Browns with Watson without at minimum him completing some kind of treatment. I know I’ve made a lot of posts in here about how I’m stepping away from the Browns indefinitely (subject to appeal from the ultimate arbiter: me) while Watson is on the team.

What he does in the community is important, but it’s obviously going to be forced and contrived and is something he can just use money to fix.

If he were to serve a lengthy suspension, complete a treatment program, somehow make a legitimate difference in the community…and I can take at least probably 2 or 3 years stepping back…I could see myself eventually slowly and cautiously coming back into the fold while he is with the team.

But a lengthy suspension, completing an intensive treatment program that the NFL signs off on, paying a fine, etc are all good first steps for me. No matter what this upcoming season I cannot in good conscience root for him. I doubt I’ll change my mind for next year either. But time heals a lot of wounds, nothing lasts forever, and Watson will need to prove he has at least somewhat changed as a person for a couple of years. I’ll never root for him personally but I know one day I will root for the Browns again,

If he got off with just a 6 game suspension, no fine, no mandated treatment(which was an egregious oversight by Judge Robinson IMO…).

Also at the end of all of this, after alll civil litigation is settled and the suspension stuff is over , I really hope he has it within himself to admit he was wrong and show some kind of contrition. He doesn’t have to explicitly admit to fucking an inanimate objext(massage table) in front of his female massage therapist but he can say that he’s sorry for how he treated the women, for his predatory (doesn’t even have to use that word) behavior which was unacceptable…but just own up that he fucked up beyond all recognition and he deserved the punishment and he learned how to better himself when going through treatment,

I try to be somewhat compassionate and I’m all for second chances. But Watson has a lot of work to do. I do hope he is suspended for the season but I expect it to be 12 games and a fine.

Born in January 84. I distinctly remember the pee splashing up on me out of those things. Absolutely disgusting.
Born in 87, and always the smallest kid growing up.

I went to one game with the troughs before they tore the place down.

You can imagine how great that experience was.

The league should've given Haslam the Donald Sterling retirement package after the Flying J shoe dropped. They left him in charge and now the city/organization are paying the price.

I was born in 79. My Dad had season tickets for over 40 years. I grew up going to the games. I remember my dad holding me up to pee in the horse troughs

Those troughs were efficient. People could pee three deep. All you needed was an angle and a window and a willingness to thread the needle.

I went to school in Boardman with the Kozars. I was in 8th grade when Bernie was a HS senior. There was a teacher's strike that year, which made the football team miss the August and Sept games, which was really disappointing because we were expecting great stuff. This year with Watson sort of feels like the same thing.

I would hope right now he is in therapy and treatment as we speak. I cannot imagine the weight on Watson right now, regardless of how any feels about him. Also, he is never going to admit any wrong doing in public(at least I do not think he will), I hate using other athletes as examples but Rothlisburger - self admitted alcoholic and porn addict did not, he became a family man and a god guy, Kobe has done so much great since his alleged incident. I can only hope what he choses to do in the public is similar to these guys and has huge success on the field while he is rebranding his name. Need to let this all play out and whatever the NFL choses to do with Watson I am fine with it- I always expected him to get 12 games once the dust settles...

If he takes these steps, I may someday be able to watch him without his helmet on. As it is today, I turn away from every photo or video of the guy.

But yeah, I'll watch every snap regardless.

I remember the troughs too.

:shivers:

At a young age whipping out your Johnson to pee in troughs either makes u pee in the stall with the door closed or your Johnson enjoys the fresh air.

Next question: do you turn to the side to pee in the trough away from your neighbor? Cup your off hand to shield your size? While peeing next to someone, unconsciously turn to look at them?

I did pee next to Tyrone Lue at the Aria, I explained just how short he was and now how I believe Iverson could step over him. I didn’t care I was rolling.
