I’ll bite, name the QBs

The defense looks good in certain areas, but they have massive issues in 4th down conversions and red zone conversion. That’s gangster talk for the interior defensive line sucks

I don't have to list QBs. It's not rocket science. Baker ranked in the bottom 1/4th in nearly every stat for starting QB's and was putrid in the 4th quarter and close games. Browns finished 8-9 last year. Lost 5 games by 4 points or less. Baker played like absolute dog shit in most of those.

Not really going to dig into it because the guy was awful. They were a playoff team last year with league average QB play. It's been hashed out quite a bit in other threads.

At a young age whipping out your Johnson to pee in troughs either makes u pee in the stall with the door closed or your Johnson enjoys the fresh air.

Next question: do you turn to the side to pee in the trough away from your neighbor? Cup your off hand to shield your size? While peeing next to someone, unconsciously turn to look at them?
First time I pissed at that trough, my face was right at dong level. I just remember looking up and seeing schlong after schlong lined up. Those things looked like they were five times the size of mine. No courtesy warning from dad to stare straight ahead.

For years after, it was a mad scramble for mini urinals whenever I could find them. I was successful for the most part too.

Then… the Cleveland Skating Club. Those old guys would read the Wall Street Journal and dry their old, wrinkly scrotums off in that locker room humidity, proud as can be. It was terrifying to think those guys with their gigantic bird nest bushes and old man junk might catch a glimpse of my pre-pubescent to adolescent schlongery. I was the only jackass in the entire joint with a towel wrapped around me. In and out of that place.

First round draft picks are gold in the NFL. No way he would have cost as much if it was already established he'd miss the entire year. Last year's first round pick wasn't even late and neither will this year's if he misses the year.

First round picks are gold. You know what's worth even more? A young, top-5 caliber franchise QB.

It's an irrelevant discussion anyway. The Browns weren't bidding against themselves. There were many teams bidding for Watson, including teams with better picks and better QB's. He was going to get traded pre-decision no matter what. The only reason Browns wound up getting Watson is because they were willing to guarantee his contract and they were the team that looked to have the team that was best positioned to win now and in the future.

Prisoners of the moment.

If it's a 10 game suspension he's suiting up in 3 months. Then all your bitching, suffering, moaning and groaning about the QB situation is behind you. And if we're 6-4 or hell, even 5-5 then we're buckling down and rooting for a sniff at the playoffs.

I mean if you're just dead set against Watson as your QB then fine - but let's not pretend that the front office/team is ruined beyond repair when the dude could very well hit the field this year when we're not out of the playoff race.

If Watson is suspended a year, it undoubtedly sucks and takes any hope out of the Browns making a playoff run this year..

Long-term, one year lost of Watson while still having him locked up long-term and in the prime of his career is still worth it..

The nightmare scenario is an indefinite suspension with terms of return which really puts Watson’s career in jeopardy and reminiscent of Josh Gordon’s yo-yo-ing between active and inactive..

Watson turned down the Browns for weather and too far from home…..the lowly Panthers and Saints became the favorites. Haslam offered the guaranteed 250m to entice Watson to come here and it worked.

I forgot the Falcons also.

It's all in the Baker thread

Mayfield played like crap to his standards, but when folks around here make comments like “an average QB would take the Browns to playoffs” they look foolish.

Folks talk crap about Mayfield but refuse to say what “average” QBs are better.

We have a weak ass first half schedule. We play Mitch Trubisky and Kenny Pickett twice!!!!!!

Miss me with all the doom and gloom. the sky is not falling around here.

This is a playoff team with or without Deshaun Watson. If he misses 6 games we'll still be in play for a bye. If he misses 12 games we can still win the division.

Honestly? I think so too.

This team went 8-9 last year with absolute dogshit QB play. Our team has improved across the board and we play an easier schedule.

Even if Brissett starts the whole season, this is still a borderline playoff team.

If Watson is able to play at all this season, there are no excuses as far as I'm concerned.

It’s not our fault the only thread you ever post in is the Watson off-the-field thread. You signed up on a specific date for a specific reason. There’s probably 100’s of pages on the board that cover this. It’s not worth rehashing. Go look look and you’ll find it.

But, you’re not interested in actually finding it or listening anyway.

Some of y'all really underestimated the level a suck we got from Baker last season in all facets. Both on and off the field he was very detrimental to the team. Jacoby Brissette is an upgrade to Baker in both areas. Deshaun Watson is an unfair advantage. You'll see.

Just remember that every time you hear a player say that the team chemistry, bonding, togetherness, morale, and locker room is much better this year that is an indictment on Baker Mayfield and the toxic environment he contributed to last season on a team that barely missed the playoffs.

Jacoby is a pros pro who's going to do what needs to be done to win games. Deshaun Watson is going to finally expose this fan base to that Superstar level of QB play that we spent dozens of years bitching about.

Chill.
