I've found that it's a heck of a lot easier to do your job when your competition thinks you're making a mistake.
(Same thing with fans.)

Underrated by everybody, all the time. That's my team!

One big disappointment was that the starting pitching has not been nearly as good as expected (15th in WAR, 17th in ERA), but that seems to be improving lately.

12th best ERA in baseball since June 1st, just ahead of the Yankees.

Each starter had at least 1 blow up start in April or early May that are skewing season numbers. But they are what most expected them to be; an above average grouping.

Always said that this FO would be the best in the business if they were working with a fat checkbook. They literally do everything exceptionally well, besides spend money.

Imagine this braintrust with the LAA funds.

We'd probably stand out less. We'd hope to be on par with Houston's front office.

This board has had some takes in my time here that have aged beautifully.

Kluber is a flash in the pan
Tomlin > Bauer
Abe Almonte will have a better career than Michael Bourn
"Pennant winning moves"
Losing record in the regular season = we're going to lose to them in the playoffs (Red Sox 2016)
Jose Ramirez couldn't even play in the KBO
If the team wins fans will show up
The Kluber trade was horrible
The Lindor trade was a horrible return

And the list goes on and on.
Don't forget your friend and mine...Alex Call!

Ergo Andrew Friedman of Dodgers (formerly Rays).

maybe - otoh, wait till shapiro gets to toronto w their bigger pockets - they were better before he showed up

Hot take alert. I think more highly of Antonetti and Chernof than I do Mark Shapiro. I think he was a little overrated.
