Stefanski is a damn good coach...I don't think people realize how good the offense will be with Watson at the helm...now the defense is a problem but I am willing to see if it gets fixed as the season goes on...if not, he will fire Woods and bring in an established guy

I think it's very possible.

Guy has been dealt a tough hand and performed pretty damn well IMO. And he's only in his 3rd year of being the head guy. I'd be hard pressed to swap him with the majority of the field.

Doesn't mean he's without his faults though. I think he needs to realize that there's a glaring issue on the defensive side that will either require a new DC or more of his involvement to iron out...problem is, he's got his hands full wringing wine out of a cum rag on offense. He's doing a pretty damn good job at it so far, so I really don't want him to sacrifice what he's doing there.

I would also wager that this is not a front office that is going to fire a coordinator mid season without cause.

Joe Woods ain't getting fired. If they do part ways it will be after the season and it will be dressed up as a mutual decision.

because Taylor is calling long-developing plays and not utilizing play action.

in 21' the Bengals called 14% of their pass plays as play action

in 22' the bengals have called 7%

could they call more PA....sure, but use play action as some excuse is premature and emotional

Zac Taylor only helped lead the Bungals to the Super Bowl, ya he's terrible....smh

Mike McCarthy won a Super Bowl, guess he's a good coach too.

I think KS could be a really good head coach. I see him as of now as a really good offensive coordinator with the head coaches' headset and clipboard. First year was covid, offense outperformed, special teams horrible. Last year with the injuries on the offensive side and defensive and special teams lapses. This year after multiple horrible defensive and special teams lapses in two straight games, where is the growth?

I see two great offensive coaches in Callahan and Stump. You could see how the running game suffered with Stump out last year. Everyone gives high praise to Callahan. On the defensive side, who could be considered potentially that highly regarded? Chris Kiffin in time maybe?

I see in KS what I see in many first time offensive coordinators becoming head coaches. Them wanting to stay in control of their side of the ball instead of having the offensive coordinator take the reins and call plays. Which leaves the defensive coordinator being the kid in school with a substitute teacher, doing what they want with less than adequate supervision.

I would really like to be a fly on the wall in meetings this week between KS and Joe Woods, defensive quality control coach Jeff Anderson and pass game coordinator/ defensive backs coach Jeff Howard.

I get the missed XP and the problem with the onside kick, but I'm not sure either is on the coaching at this point. Jets did make a play and Cooper sort of botched it. And...well, numerous things can go wrong on a XP. Unlike the defense, there isn't much coaching can change there.

Furthermore, Stefanski hired Callahan and inherited Stump. And while they deserve a lot of praise for the offensive line, it's the Stefanski offense/play design and play calling. The offense is a well oiled machine, and this is without their main weapon on offense playing a single game. They are beating teams into submission on the ground, and in game 2, they got the passing attack humming along.

We've seen the range of average to bad coaching in Cleveland, but the stuff Stefanski does on offense, with the game day management, IMO, is elite NFL coaching.

Burrow is on pace to be sacked over 100 times this year. This is after the team spent a fortune on OL players.

Care to recall what happened when we hired Stefanski and spent a bunch of money on our OL? We went from Baker getting murdered in 2019 to having one of the best lines in the game in 2020.

Taylor lucked into a situation where he got a top ten QB and elite skill position guys, and probably the only reason he’s still employed is because those players carried his bum ass to the Super Bowl.

And honestly, we should all be thankful, because the Bengals extended him after that and are going to be too cheap to fire him for at least two or three more years.

they've played TWO games.....TWO stinking games and you're making a full season judgement? come on

the bungals gave up 10 sacks in the first two games of 21'......like i said before: premature and emotional

2019: 5.27 blitzes to sacks
2020: 6.88 b - s
2021: 2.88 b- s

who's fault for 21' season?

Better lucky than good

I think Zac Taylor is below average... but I'll also say it's interesting how Burrow gets ZERO blame for how many sacks he takes. Dude pitches a tent in the pocket so often but the o-line/coaching takes all the blame. National media too busy slurping on "Cool Joe" I guess.
I agree, Burrow has already stated he doesn't care about sacks because he wants to make a play. I also don't think he likes to turn his back to the defense, thus the lack of PA.

A huge national media talking point with Taylor is how his teams are horribly predictable. They run when Burrow is under center and throw when in shotgun. It's hilariously predictable.
