In my mind the single greatest rivalry was Bret Hart vs. Mr. Perfect in terms of the utter... perfection of the matches.
Every single match they had was a classic.
They were the two greatest workers of their age.
I think this is their first match in the WWF. Hennig returned to the WWF in late 88 or early 89, but would only begin his legendary IC title run in early 1990.
@RchfldCavRaised @The Oi
It is most unfortunate that Perfect hurt his back repeatedly.Their best match ever, was Summer Slam 1992 for the Intercontinental title.
I think that match might have gone about a hour and a half or pure technical excellence of execution and perfectionism on display.
We're going to turn this thread into a one-stop shop for Golden Era matches.Reading through this thread brought back alot of fun memories. 80s-90 WWE/WWF was the shit!!
You got me good brotherThe infamous Undertaker vs. Hogan title match.
Classic G1 Undertaker, feat. Ric Flair.
After the match, Hogan did his best to torpedo 'Taker's title run, lying that Undertaker wrenched his neck on the tombstone.
There was never a lie Hogan didn't like.
It's actually something of a miracle that Hogan put Warrior over clean at Wrestlemania VI.You got me good brother
Yeah Hogan was a giant piece of shit Vince prolly paid the man multi millions to put over WarriorIt's actually something of a miracle that Hogan put Warrior over clean at Wrestlemania VI.
I think that was the last time for a long, long time Hogen put someone over without demanding a trick ending.
The infamous Wrestlemania IX with the trick finish to the Tag-Team match with Money Inc. and then the bullshit title win in 10 seconds over Yokozuna, after he just beat Bret Hart, is a perfect example.
THAT DOESN'T WORK FOR ME, BROTHA
The best part about this is after Hogan lied about fucking up his neck, when Taker calls him out on it he changes his story to "You held me so tight I wasn't able to move and that's why you jammed me up" or whatever. Lol.Bonus: Undertaker shoots about Hogan's fib.
Yeah, it is hilarious that Vince and Shane looked at the tape that night and both told 'Taker he did nothing wrong.The best part about this is after Hogan lied about fucking up his neck, when Taker calls him out on it he changes his story to "You held me so tight I wasn't able to move and that's why you jammed me up" or whatever. Lol.
