Cedi really thrives when he has guys like LeBron and Donovan to take pressure off him. As has been stated here a number of times, he isn't a creator, but he can be a secondary offensive energy guy when he can fit in alongside a more ball dominant scorer. He takes better shots, doesn't force wild lay-ups, etc. It's amazing a difference that makes with him.

I don’t know, Cedi is playing lights out, and we all just want to see something like this (it would be unrealistic to expect this all season) going forward. Right now it seems like if it ain’t broke don’t fix it, meaning we should just start Okoro and try to slog through one more game, and then we get Garland back and Cedi can be our 2-3, with Wade as our 3-4, and Love as our 4-5, Lopez as our 5.
Whatever is happening with Cedi right now, let’s try to ride that wave, meaning I think Okoro should go from starting to pretty much cleanup minutes or defensive specialist. That’s what the tape and numbers say should happen.

Start him at SF when Garland returns.

It’s time

…For me to be hurt again.

As the team continues slow starts where they are struggling with spacing we are going to start thinking more seriously about this.

His defense is the only reason he can't start, and everyone else is looking pretty good.

Caris has been hitting 3's, but mostly because guys won't come out to guard him and that is a problem. In any case, I would like JB to take Caris out faster and insert Osman.

Team just cooks when he is out there. More transition opportunities and lots of space for Donovan to attack.

Maybe Darius comes back and the spacing is fixed, but I am not sure that will be all they need.

He just needs to be on the court with at least one primary facilitator (maybe 2) and needs to shoot. I think he gets all out of sorts when asked to put the ball on the floor too much. If Cedi had a sharply defined role, he looks like he could be the 3 and D guy.

Did not have Cedi being the X factor on my Cavs Bingo card for the year.

He’s saved our butts often already. Good for him.

Quietly while RCF pined for Lauri in the European tournament this summer, Cedi went Turkish Delight all over Eastern Europe. The signs were there, we just weren't open to it.

He has been inconsistent his entire time here but one thing that is consistent is he plays much better off the bench. Let’s keep him doing that. If he’s playing well on a given night then he can finish.

From September:

Cedi...he's the guy I think could be a bit more interesting this year. He's sometimes performed very well when he's the 3rd/4th offensive option. He's a smart player, good passer, and plays good team defense. But if you ask him to be any kind of initiator, or break down a defense, it gets ugly fast. His decision-making as a ball-handler rather than a ball-mover is horrible. So...keep him away from ball handling.

It just seems to me that if you put him on the floor with Garland, Mitchell, Mobley, and Allen, you're putting him in the best possible position to excel, and to help keep that ball moving. I think that might be important as Garland and Mitchell try to stay out of a "your turn/my turn" offense.

And yes, I'm quoting myself.

I feel like if you look at the Cedi thread every year between October and the end of December, these are the posts we get. And then he dips in Jan. Fingers crossed he keeps it going this season with a more prolific scorer who hopefully stays healthy.

I mean if you look at it statistically, through 4 games Cedi has been our most consistent player. Which is funny because his career has been defined by inconsistency.

I think most of us are just waiting for the other shoe to drop eventually...but what if he doesn’t? Always having 1-2 elite playmakers and ball handlers on the floor with him like Garland, Mitchell and Rubio means Cedi should actually perform even better going forward.
