23 MLB Offseason News!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Put it here as he is no longer w us

We do have the Ex-Indians thread as well...

Well let's see how he does in 23, but we had a reason why we didn't keep him. Not sure exactly what it is though...

I really hope this trade doesn't blow up in our faces... They must really like Carver.

Or they don't really like something about Vargas (aka medicals or personality)

If C-Var stays healthy.. that electric arm plays.. only health will stop him from being a beast in the DBax pen.. like closer level..

He was always one of my faves from the time he was drafted..

I know why Milwaukee did this, but I don't think I would have done this if I was the Angels...

Cleveland by the way... Could have easily outbid the Angels if you use MLB.com prospect rankings since Junk would have been ranked near Nikhazy (#25) in the Cleveland farm. I guess Renfroe never ended up being a target for Cleveland...
What the hell would we do with a guy that hits around 30 HR with an OPS+ of 126? We need more contact oriented guys that don't have that much power. Power is overrated and the teams that win the WS typically don't hit many.

In all seriousness I think OGon profiles much like Renfroe. He just doesn't play defense as good as Hunter.

So he wants to stay with the Tigers and help coach in 24?
I assume he takes a Brian Shaw type role where he hangs out in the clubhouse and dugout in a uniform but just doesn't take the field.

Translation: I have one more year of a monster contract and I'm not surrendering that filthy lucre.
Oh, I love this game too. Mother fucker do I love this game.

Talk about paying for past performance. Detroit paid Miggy $248m 2016-23 and got one MVP type and seven average/below average years out of it. That's a whole lot of Pizza! Pizza!

From MLBTradeRumors. Being a Rays fan seems pretty tough;

With an $11MM salary for next season, Eflin becomes the highest-paid player on the Tampa Bay roster. He’ll lose that title in 2024, when Glasnow’s salary spikes to $25MM, but he’ll count for a significant portion of a Rays payroll that typically ranks among the league’s lowest. The Rays are now up to around $78MM in projected commitments for 2023, not far off their franchise-record $83MM mark from this past season. The overall $40MM guarantee represents the largest free agent investment in Rays history.

Seattle found a sucker for Winker the windmill... along with Abraham Toro to the milwaukee brewers for Kolten Wong plus some cash to make the deal neutral.. the first deal entering the weekend that starts the winter meetings..
