Actually the real wildcard is Cantillo IMO.

Bibee's noted refinement is his separator. If he is dealing and the results prove out, he won't last half a season in the minors IMO. Logan Allen quite frankly stagnated last year and I'm a seller not a buyer at the moment.

Will they bring Espino along slowly or get him right back in the mix? Not sure myself.

Edit. A little more on Allen. I am not sayin he isn't a quality prospect, I just see him a little further behind at the moment. It's worth seeing what an off-season did for him and he could find himself right back on top in a few weeks.
11 K/9 4.4 BB/9 in AAA. Obviously the BB are a red flag for someone whose calling card is supposed to be his command but if he can show that was just a bump in the road I think he's MLB ready. Not really a FOR guy but a #3-#5 guy who keeps you in games which is very valuable.

I'll have a little faith in his ability to locate because he has a reputation for being a command guy. Maybe he was experimenting/tinkering more.

"One sip" is an anagram of Espino.

Danny One Sip would like you all to know that he is healthy and ready to go.
...and in the best shape of his career. He gained 15 lbs of muscle from moms home cooking, lost 25 lbs doing cardio, and has been shooting 1000 jumpers a day.

So...

For those who think that Cantillo and Espino are realistic candidates to start at some point in Cleveland this year....

How many innings is a safe number for either to pitch this year?

To refresh ..

Cantillo threw 60.2 IP last year and 13 in 2021. He was shut down last year with a sore shoulder and in 2021 with an oblique injury.

Espino threw 18.1 last year and 91.2 in 2021. He had a knee injury and sore shoulder last year.

Cantillo 90+.. NTE 110
Espino up to 90..

..assumes good health/report and remains that way..

I don't think Espino is likely to make any starts for the Guardians in 2023, but.. There is no realistic chance... However...

Cantillo isn't likely to be relied upon as a contributor and shouldn't be... But if he is healthy and delivering - 40-60IP MLB would be an ideal start for the rookie and hopefully they don't completely suck. Not counting on him, not counting him out.

Point is - I really like a ton of our SP on the 40 man and more than a couple not on the 40 man... If injuries pop up or someone cannot be stopped... Bases are covered.

Arias bat seems very important. He'll be playing much more OF this spring to increase versatility. Things you like to hear!
I wonder for who? Straw? What about Brennan? What about Naylor getting more reps in RF? Just quit fucking around and put him at SS already.

Due to the Q busting my balls the inference was for Arias to be put at SS already. Can't get away with anything around here. This place is a fucking prison on planet Bullshit!

Remember, he incorporated a new pitch(cutter) last season which is likely the reason for the loss of control. I too see Allen as a 3-5 and last season shouldn't be weighed against him too heavily. Similarly, the mechanical change that Battenfield made in AAA should afford him the opportunity to reaffirm his success prior to that change. Bottomline, not all poor performances are without context.

I don't have any memories of Oscar Gamble in RF. He is just a legend to me.

Josh Naylor, you are no legend. You are the worst RF I have ever seen.

Possibly the most anagrammical name since Mike "I make pizza" Piazza.

Note: "anagrammical" is not a word. Yet.
He would have been making pizzas for a living if his dad wasn't friends with Tommy Lasorda.

I'll go 100-120 for Espino and 100 for Cantillo.
