Yep, maybe eyes fixated on Tampa, Atlanta, and maybe even the Reds. But certainly not Minnesota.

Just win the Div. I will take my chances then. I feel we will be a lot better team in sept
Not exactly sure how though. Lol

BS.

Once again, the idea is to stop all the nonsense stalling between pitches. Get in the box and swing at the damn ball.

For over 100 years, most pitchers and batters played the game. Then, for some unknown reason, players decided that stalling was a good strategy.

Asking for time during an at-bat is hardly a revolutionary thing.

I agree that the rule changes have been beneficial as a whole, but again, the umpire nodded, granting the request. I didn't see any nonsense in that at bat. The only thing that's BS is seeing the game taken out of the hands of its players over a single second's worth of time. That guy is new to umping the big leagues and I guarantee he got an earful from his crew, particularly the ump at first base that had to come defend that ego shit show.

There was no waiting until the last second or trying to get in the guy's head. A player just had a 100mph pitch come in that was hard to handle and asked the ump for brief time.

I agree that scoreboard watching the Twins in June is silly. The Guardians simply need to continue to play at this level and they will have nobody to worry about. They're racing themselves and their ability to sustain quality play, regardless of opponent.

Hmmm. Are those other teams in our division.? You really are fixated on Atlanta and Tampa I just looked they are not in our division Anything can happen in a playoff series.

It's just nice to be in 1st place.

Guardians come from behind and win 7-6

Josh Naylor's solo homer:

Is getting swept by a vastly superior team in the playoffs really the endgame?

Ho-hum, another come-from-behind one-run win over Oakland. We own these guys.

Bo Naylor gets his first hit, and it's a big one. Gavin Williams gets his first start and other than a little wildness early was not bad. He certainly finished strong although his final line was not good. He retired 10 in a row before walking his last hitter.

For the second night in a row we win late on a botched defensive play by the A's. Actually, it wasn't the right fielder's fault that his throw hit Kwan sliding into second and allowed Bo to score. But Laureano also butchered a ground ball in the outfield that allowed a run to score.

The bullpen failed as Hentges and Stephan gave up two runs, but Clase escaped with the save. He rose to the occasion to get the huge strikeout with the tying run on third and then the final out.

Tony Kemp is 4-for-7 with a walk. One of his hits was a home run, his second of the season. He came into the series hitting .164 but we just can't get him out. He even lined a hit off Sam Hentges on the 8th pitch of the at-bat.

Josh Naylor was 4-for-4 with a home run. Jose had three singles and Kwan had the big hit to drive in the final run on a pitch that almost hit him in the jaw.

Brennan made what might be the catch of the year (except for a couple by Kwan) but they took him out, hopefully as a precaution. He better be OK because he's hitting .344 this month.

The Twins beat the Red Sox in 10 innings at home so we're still a game out.

Last game of the year against the A's. Every game has been decided by one run except one - a 6-4 Guardians win in 10 innings.

If Clase had allowed the tying run to score in the top of the 9th I'm pretty sure we'd have won it in the bottom with Jose and Josh Naylor coming up first.
