Another 0 walk game

If this team doesn't learn to be more selective, especially against mediocre or bad pitchers, they'll lose those winnable games.

Man, Josh Bell must be one of the unluckiest hitters in MLB right now. Scorched 3 balls, one over 400 ft that would've been a HR in 9 stadiums... 890, 630, 400 xBA all outs. Then gets a single on a 72 EV, 280 xBA.

Like Naylor before, you have to let it play out and one day that's a 3 for 4 night with 3 XBH. He's overdue.

Completely agree on Bell, guy has been just having a brutally unlucky year and that's no reason to take him out for more guys who don't know how to take pitches

Going to the game w my family. It’ll be the first game I have attended since I lost my dad, and it’s my daughters first baseball game.

Cheers guys, love y’all
Have fun. Sorry for your loss

how much more of Cam Gallagher do we need to see?

He is liked by the veteran SPs of the roster... So I am doubting he will be gone...

Though I think majority of the time going forward, he's only going to play day games...

This type of reasoning irks me if it's actually true. Cam would be a good back up if we actually needed him or he could provide some offensive value. Neither are the case here and a veteran bat that could come off the bench would be more useful to this team IMO. If any of the SP, veteran or otherwise, are not comfortable with Bo and/or Fry then they need to get comfortable with Bo and/or Fry.

Thinking about this a little deeper, removing Cam from the roster could make Bell that veteran bat and we could call up Pries or make room to acquire a bat.

What you don't get is, Pitchers like to throw to certain guys and because the last spot has no ABs available anyways, it should go to a veteran... I'd rather have an utility guy there, but it's a veteran C...

Now things couple change at the trade deadline, but if Cam is still on the roster then, he is going to survive...

Ps. I wish we just started the season with Naylor as the starter and Hedges as the backup...

...having two guys who "can play catcher" with a massive total of less than 200 ML combined AB's might be part of the consideration for keeping Cam on the squad...

..in spite of being comfortable or not...

As much as I love Spongebob the TV show, I've finally accepted the fact that Oscar just isn't ever gonna cut it. He's pretty good at getting the bat to the ball but just doesn't have the pitch recognition or plate discipline. Tough to teach those things. Hope I'm wrong though. Still rooting for him. Let's see if he can battle each time and avoid an embarrassing at-bat today.

The only thing about our team, is we’re not Oakland , KC , Detroit, Colorado, etc etc we’re trying to do both ,win and develop the young players, you take Oscar, Arias, Freeman, Jones, Benson those others teams I mention could afford to just go through the complete growing pain with those players and let them sink or swim and I predict most of those players will stay afloat, but with us we will throw them a life vest the first sign of struggles and that sometimes won’t give them a chance to prove they could stay afloat.

Agree with the last thought it definitely would have produced a better product than attempting to catch lighting in a bottle (20/20 realm for many though).

Gallagher is hands-down the best receiver on the roster. I suppose one could frame it, is the pitcher more comfortable losing a fraction of a run on O or D?

And where is the Fry is a 2 coming from? His value to the roster is as a 3. The surprise has been he’s not horrendous behind the dish. That’s a COMPLIMENT given the amount of he’s spent behind the plate the past few years. I believe he’s carving out a place for himself on an MLB roster with his play. I’m definitely a fan.
