This is why you can't go off a box score when trying to look deep for players at training camp. The guys who played like they were supposed to were:
- Shaq
- Andy
- Moon
- Parker
- Gibson
- Z
The problem lies with all the other guys who played tonight. Now we truly know who's capable of what and who isn't.
- J.J. is still young. He managed to do some things right, but needs work on defense.
- Jawad seems to be good enough as a 15th invite, but that's only because he was attempting the Allen Iverson role of shooting teams out of their sets. But he did well enough, I guess.
- Andre Barrett and Russell Robinson, as MYoung23 said, are just not the type of point guards we need. Both stunk and couldn't trust themselves with passes and doing the right plays. Moon was a better point guard than they were. We are better off signing one on the market in the case that we need someone to run the team as a in-case-of-an-emergency player.
- Rob Kurz showed us what he lacked. Defense. The ability to be useful in the offense with exception to shooting threes. Yeah, Jawad probably is a better fit for other reasons.
- We know that Luke isn't going to have a single prayer.
Those 4 guys I mentioned... done. We don't need them. Darryl also probably doesn't fit either because there was no effort. That means Jawad and Coby get in by default, right?
Either way, I think something should be done to shore up the point guard even further...
Also, these injuries are killing me. It's always this damn karma. Hopefully Boobie's tail bone doesn't affect his shot, or Andy's injury affect him, or Delonte be affected by his stuff, or LeBron, Darnell, and Coby affected by swine flu, or Mo affected by his groin, or whatever
...
I really don't like seeing this, because it's starting to play out like the 2007-2008 year. We need to get HEALTHY...
Aside from that, it's the f#cking preseason. So whining because we lost is just bull-shit, especially when Mike Brown has too much discipline to not play key guys JUST so we can win. I really don't care about the final result as much as us getting healthy, improved, and prepared. Still, it was at least nice to watch basketball for the hell of it, even though it was ugly.
