2019 53-man roster news

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
And atleast one of Robinson or Hubbard are gone, Robinson 1 year 7 mill, but will want decent money again to stay, Hubbard 2 years left at that point for 7 mill each, with another year of Desmond at under 1 mill plus then RFA, I am sure he is being groomed to take one of the spots.

One year ago I thought Austin Corbett was being groomed to be the 2019 starting center. He took a lot of reps at backup center in July and August. We also heard John Dorsey call JC Tretter "soft."

But then Tretter had an outstanding season. Suddenly Zeitler was more expendable in a trade, allowing the slightly overpaid Tretter to stay around.

I see what you are saying, but I still want to see how these guys play before we decide how long they will be with the Browns.

I feel my percentages are pretty on though, we will likely go to free agency if we have to if they don't work out as draft picks.

I hate when people say Carrie is Terrible. Guy was a 7th round draft pick and has made close to 20 million in his career after this season. 95% of 7th round picks would take his career. The guy is an overachiever. Carrie has been a slot/nickle corner his whole career and just because some gives u starting corner money doesn't suddenly make you a starting corner.

Gerald McCoy, Richardson, Vernon, Garrett would be a nice line with larry coming in to give rest in the middle

Carrie is a really good nickel corner. He was great until he became the #1/#2 corner when Ward and Mitchell got hurt.

Guy is really physical, has good size, stays relatively healthy, and does not get lost. He lacks the initial burst and footwork to cover the strongest and fastest receivers, but he can usually stay afloat when going up against slot guys.

Carrie makes too much to be a nickel corner, and he is probably our 4th best behind ward, greedy and Mitchell, I am pretty sure he will be a cap casualty.

No Scottish Hammer?

Even after the roster is cut down to 53, waiver wire pick ups will be made. There’s probably 1-2 DTs they have an eye on, currently on other rosters. There could be a trade for a DT as well. Anything is possible.

No Scottish Hammer?

Hard to keep him over Colquitt to be honest since Colquitt had a good year last year!

@CBBI

Honestly I think with the way Kitchen likes to run the ball, I almost feel we will either keep one more TE or FB since that would support that style of game a little better (Orson Charles seemed to float between the two last season).

Also with the fact I feel we will have more 4-2-5 over 4-3, I don't think we keep that many LBs.

My current roster. Based only on guys in camp.

QB (2) - Mayfield, Stanton
RB (4) - Chubb, Hilliard, Gray
TE (3) - NJoku, Harris, Brown
WR (6) - OBJ, Juice, Hollywood, Strong, Willies, Montgomery
OL (9) - GRob, Bitonio, Trett, Kush, Hubbard, Forbes, Corbett, Kalis, Lamm

DE (5) - Garrett, Vernon, Avery, Zettel, Thomas
DT (5) - Ogunjobi, Richardson, Coley, Ekuale, Lawrence
LB (5) - Schobert, Kirksey, Takitaki, Wilson, Taylor
CB (6) - Ward, Mitchell, Carries, Greedy, Gaines, Thomas
S (5) - Randall, Burnett, Murray, Redwine, Whitehead

Sp - Hughlett, Colquitt, Joseph

- I don't think anyone is going to add Gilbert to their 53 man. They can afford to cut him and maybe add him later in case of injury. Blough will be practice squad.

- I have Gray over Dernest because as of right now, Chubb is their only "big" back and they have no one to line up at FB in goaline. Gray theoretically can do both. It might be more likely that they bring in an Hback to block over Pharoah Brown, and keep Dernest as the 3rd RB. Or maybe they bring an HBack and a different 3rd RB. I am confident in Chubb, Hilliard, Njoku and Harris. After those 4, we'll keep at least 2 more, but no idea if they're on the roster.

- Ish Hyman is the biggest lock for the PS, IMO, unless another team thinks he's 53 man worthy. I also think when Callaway gets back, Strong is most likely to go.

- I'd like another OT, but don't think Seaton makes the team. 3 of the 4 backup OL are either guards or centers. Bringing in an emergency tackle wouldn't surprise me. Think Finneanganofo makes the PS.

- 10 DL is a lot. If they keep 9, Chad Thomas and Lawrence might be fighting for the last roster spot, and it opens up a spot elsewhere.

- I really think Tavierre Thomas bring a lot on special teams, so I think he makes the team.

- I picked Joseph because...why not? No idea who actually wins the job.

Positions most likely to add someone not currently on roster: RB/FB/HB/TE combo or OT. Maybe DT if someone unexpected shakes loose.

You have to wonder if we'll see the Browns be active on the RB waiver wire.

Nobody behind Hilliard appears to be taking advantage of this opportunity.

Offense (23):
QB (3): Mayfield, Stanton, Gilbert
RB (3): Chubb, Hilliard, Johnson
WR (6): OBJ, Landry, Higgins, Strong, Willies, Ratley
TE (3): Njoku, Harris, Brown
OL (8): Robinson, Bitonio, Tretter, Kush, Hubbard, Lamm, Forbes, Corbett

Defense (26):
DE (5): Garrett, Vernon, Avery, Smith, Thomas
DT (4): Richardson, Ogunjobi, Lawrence, Coley
LB (6): Schobert, Kirksey, Wilson, Takitaki, Taylor, Armstrong
CB (6): Ward, Mitchell, Williams, Carrie, Gaines, Murray
S (5): Randall, Burnett, Whitehead, Redwine, Burris

Specialists (3): Colquitt, Hughlett, kicker not currently on roster

That leaves one spot open for either a FB (Kerridge), OL (Kalis), or DL (Zettel/Ekuale). Definitely think they're taking 3 QB.

He isn't getting cut this year.
