2020 Off-Season Rumors/News

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
A jump is always possible, especially at his age, but his consistent mediocrity across four seasons is crazy.

BA% has ranged from .253 to .268
OBP% has ranged from .317 to .323
HR have ranged from 19 to 20
wRC+ has ranged from 87 to 95
fWAR has ranged from -0.3 to 0.9

Fortunately, for the White Sox's sake, he still represents a decent RF upgrade. And the prospect they traded is only a year younger and hasn't played in AA yet.

I do find it a bit puzzling that they cut bait with Yolmer Sanchez to essentially pay Mazara the same amount of money.

I think the Yankees only concern is about starting the decade off right. Pretty sure these past 10 years were the 1st decade they didnt at least appear in the WS since the dead ball era.

Nightengale couldn't be a source I trust less.

But a package of Lux and May likely gets me over the finish line in some capacity, perhaps if 1-2 other players are involved.
Someone fill me in on these two guys.

Nightengale sucks as a source, so take a mountain of salt with that report.

However, May and Lux is a good start. Add Verdugo to that package and I think it's a done deal for me.

Lux is a mega prospect with great power and plays a good 2nd base. I'm sure @AZ_ could give a better report.

May is an extremely good starting pitcher who is likely destined to be a FOR starter for many years. Came up last year and really dominated in his 4 starts. Really good pitcher.

Lux is the number 2 prospect in baseball. Good hitting short stop. Plus speed. Can also play 2B.

May profiles as a number 2 Pitcher. Good stuff. Great sinker.

But there is nothing to see here. The source is Bob Nightengale and Dodgers are constantly used as leverage. See Cole, Rendon, and Strasburg. Dodgers get linked to big Free Agents and big trade targets to increase the contract given to the FA or the return package of the star player.

Lux had a 1.197 OPS in 2019 in AAA in 232 PAs last season.
He turned 22 years-old in November.

If they thought attendance has been bad the last few years then oh boy just wait until this year.

Lux is a Top 10 prospect in baseball. Good shortstop skills, pure hit skills.

Basically the Indians would trade two years of Lindor for seven of Lux, who should be a future All-Star with elite offensive potential. Then throw in Dustin May, who in his own right is likely a top 30 prospect in the league with plus plus stuff.

Maybe pretending they were going to show up all along has been the problem.

Lux, May, and Verdugo gets me to pull the trigger on a Lindor deal, and I really, really don't want to trade him.

One all-star for potentially three, all of them highly, highly regarded.

That is, unfortunately, never going to happen.

But I think Lux/May and potentially a third piece is something that seems realistic enough to get done. Anything less than two of those three, with Lux being a firm add, is not acceptable for me.

Technically it would be 5 years; considering he would likely price himself out of Cleveland if what I am reading is true lol
