Matthew Dellavedova

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
In Fedor's column today he mentioned that the Cavs are 5-5 under Bickerstaff, and one of the reasons is the injury to Garland forced JBB to give Delly a lot of minutes.

It should be no secret you play winning basketball when Delly is out there. The guy is a legit pass first PG and a physical defender. When was the last time you saw a skilled top 5 PG play defense? Garland is a nice young piece but if he isn't making shots or setting people up with nice looks, his defense KILLS you at times.

Love seeing Delly ball at this level though. He makes everyone better.

It ;looks to me like you can play ok defense with Darius or Collin, but not both. That is the real issue IMO

I think its less Delly, and more a big PG that can guard 1-3 is what the cavs need. Sexton is not a real pg, doubt he ever is, but he is an efficient scorer which is highly valuable in todays NBA, so lets construct a team that makes sense. I am sure its coming.

And if Garland is odd man out, its more to do with how good Sexton is playing than Garland not playing ok

Great article on Delly in the ABJ today by Marla Ridenour. I don't know how to copy and paste links from my tablet but if you go to Ohio.com you'll find it. Sexton gave Delly big props for his help (showing him what he could/should have done on plays and encouraging him to not try to do too much). Really, watching Delly run the offense seems to have amazed Collin. TT also praised Delly in a big way. Good read.

I recall Kevin Porter Jr saying something earlier in the season about how much he respected Matthew and how his brain works. (his anticipation skills)

It is also nice to see a high quality person have some success. I was worried the Delly era was entirely done in the NBA with how he looked earlier in the season.

so what is going to happen for delly in free agency?

a few years ago when they were up 2-1 in the finals, LeBron was talking about a secret motivation that he had to win the title

my theory about the secret is that he went legitimately gay for delly and fell in love with him so he wanted to win a title with him, and I think that he still has those feelings so he is going to try to bring in delly to the lakers

Wow, just wow. This pandemic is driving people to unbelievable conclusions. Talk it out, bro.

why is it unbelievable? did you watch delly during game 2 and 3? how could LeBron not turn gay for him?

like that time when he flashed his penis on tv, I guarantee he was trying to show it to delly and get him interested, I used the same technique on a lady at work but you've got to be make it look natural

btw im strictly homophobic and dont condone it but this is different, its delly

I'd like to see him back on short cheap contract. He can go back to the NBL after.

Went back and watched the highlights from games 2 and 3 of the 2015 series. Delly's teardrop was working, his awkward looking three was going in and he was always in Curry's face, and of course, all over the floor.

No Kyrie, no Love, Shumpert at 50%, JR playing like dirt, a bench consisting of Methuselahs and still up 2 games to 1. Amazing. Probably Lebron at his very best.

Delly was an absolute master at ball-denial. Took a ton of effort to do it effectively, but it worked. Also, he lacked the quickness and length to be a truly good all-round defender, but he was just awesome at defending with his body. The second Curry touched the ball, Delly would go chest to chest with him, and not give him room to exploit his superior ball-handling and quickness.

If I was a coach at any level, I'd make my team watch Game 3 just to focus on Delly. Show how even a guy with limited physical ability can have a major impact with smarts and effort.

I like your new Av

It was such a cool light. Alas, neon lights aren't very durable. I bought it during Kyrie's rookie year and it was 60 bux on sale. Reminder, when the team is this bad, Cavs stuff is cheap!
