I know what you're saying, but there's been a very noticeable drop off in Love's performance recently. I wouldn't have been nearly this critical four weeks ago. That's what my complaints are about, not so much Love as an NBA player... despite all his quirks and flaws.

For once, I'd like to see JBB react in a timely manner and do something before Love either gets an overuse injury or really falls off a cliff, losing us an important game.
And to me the drop-off in Love's performance seems to correlate closely with the heavy part of the schedule and the grueling road trip, it should come as no surprise.

Actually would not mind if they sat him today and Monday. Would be a good 5 day rest

I realize your moniker indicates your loyalty, but Wade can and has scored for us. He’s been over 16 points 11 times since March of last year in limited opportunities. He’s not the shooter or scorer that Love is, but he also doesn’t have the green light Love has. I’ve been a Kevin defender even when he was nearly indefensible the previous 2 years, but the original comment that started this hasn’t changed - Kevin is a large liability on defense on his best nights. And with the effort he’s been giving lately, he is legitimately one of the worst defensive players in the league. If he’s not scoring at a very efficient rate, he’s not helpful. And I’d rather watch Wade (or anyone else) pass up open shots if he’s playing hard and contributing in other ways.
Since I consider rebounding skills part of the "defensive package" (a big part, actually) I completely reject the characterization of Love as being one of the worst defenders in the league. He is still an elite rebounder.

On a per 36 basis Kevin is 23.6 / 12.0 / 3.6.

Wade is 9.0 / 6.1 / 2.2.

Windler is 10.3 / 6.4 /2.7

Love per 36 scoring is tops on the team; Garland is second at 20.5. Love’s rebounding ties Allen for the team lead, and his assists are tops on the team excluding PGs.

But yeah, let’s bench Love and replace his minutes with those two guys.

Nobody is saying to BENCH Love. He might need a little more REST.

Reading is fundamental.

Umm, Love puts up a TON of shots for a bench player. Neither Wade or Windler are allowed to do that. I know Kevin's role is to provide scoring in the 2nd unit, but he's just as trigger happy when he's playing with the starters. Nothing wrong with that if you're hitting, but right now he's a bad jump shooter who does little else.

He gets defensive rebounds because he's the only big who stays parked under the basket instead of closing out shooters (which, incidentally, is something he WAS doing early in the season).

Offensive rebounding is what really matters in this league, and Love hasn't been an offensive rebounder for at least 5 years.

Not to disagree, but technically Love does come of the bench

You are actually just making up nonsense to push your narrative my dude. Love takes and makes a ton of shots because he has the ball skills to do it. Watch highlights of him, just a masterclass on how to create openings with fakes and body motion. Calling him a pure jump shooter completely ignores his elite passing as a big and the fact that he gets to the line way too often for a spot up shooter. No, Kevin Love is still a very skilled and complete scoring option. And will be til he decides to hang it up. He is on a bit of a cold streak. It happens. I don't recall you laying into Lauri when he couldn't hit the top of the backboard for like 3 weeks. Seems hypocritical to me.

Love gets boards because he is really good at it. It isn't just a matter of camping the paint, but he is an expert at reading the spin of the ball, actually boxes out, and can assert position down low. We could leave Mobley or Lauri down there and neither would scoop up as many boards as Love does. He is absolutely a vital member of our team right now and should continue playing as he has been, maybe with a few less minutes and more going to Ed Davis.

I know. You don't even seem to read my posts so why bother responding?

For the fucking millionth time, I'm not looking to trade Love, remove him from the rotation, or even bench him for any length of time. ALL I'm asking is MAYBE some modest playing time for Wade, who's like 10 times the defender Love is at this stage and can also hit a 3pt shot.

LOL. Are you fucking serious?? Just more proof that you don't even read my posts. GTFO...

Ed Davis... right. LOL.

Love doesn't play defense, and no amount of spin by you is going to change that. Bye!

No need to be so angry lol. Love is a better defender than people think. He has excellent positional awareness and gets in places ahead of the offense. He is old and creaky so I dont expect him to chase wings and guards around screens but this is what the drop scheme is for. But anyway, ... Wade getting a few spot mins is probably fine but he is a major drain on offense momentum. You cant have him out there without Mobley or Garland to carry the offensive load since he puts such little pressure when compared to K Love

You have no information whatsoever that Wade or Windler are under orders not to shoot.

You just make things up and present them as facts.

JBB is not going to give Wade or Windler minutes at Love’s expense because Love is a far better player.

Yep. Wade and Windler not being allowed to shoot...lol.

As I stated earlier, I'm not a fan of Love's defense either, and I wouldn't mind seeing his minutes trimmed, as buzzdog stated...but not for a marginal player like Wade (or Windler for that matter). I'd rather see Love and Lauri play separately, and give Love's minutes to Lauri. Save Wade and Windler for less important games, or when the Cavs have big leads...the vast majority of long-term and respected posters here can see that, thankfully, it's just one or two being stubborn and thinking raging on RCF will win arguments and change JBB's mind.

Good news is, with the Cavs playing OKC, maybe we'll see more of Wade and Windler tonight after all. And maybe everyone can be happy then. :)

Your post was questionable. The response from @foucault87 contained zero personal attacks against you, just pointed out flaws in your post. There's absolutely no reason to go 100% personal attack on his response. I thought he showed tremendous restraint.
