11/29/11 #4 Duke @ #2 Ohio State

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Every time I get excited about Rivers's game, he does something dumb and out of control a couple plays later. He's showing flashes of ditching that tunnel vision, but there's been times he's had guys clearly open on the perimeter and ignored them to drive.

I liked seeing him take that step-back even though he missed it. I think if he's going to be successful, he's going to have to hit that shot consistently.

Love Plumlee.

I swear Duke gives out no less than two scholarships a year to a scrub white guy to stand up on the end of the bench and clap for every little play.

I didn't think the game would get this out of hand. Nice job boys, nice job!

Am I crazy for thinking Kyrie looked more impressive a month into his freshman year than Rivers?

Is Rivers a for sure one-and-done-er or will he actually give himself time to develop?

I'm surprised the floor didn't splinter. Christ.

That looked terrible. He looks OK now. We need a long guy like that on the floor as much as possible for D

I bet the overrated chants are pissing Coach K off. Don't be surprised if he walks off without a handshake.

LOL, barely a handshake, he is PISSED.

Garbage bucket with 8 seconds left makes the total 148, O/U was 147.

You're mature.

Nice win by the bucks. Shows they are the most dominant team and anyone can score at any given time

Florida, check. Duke, destroyed. Bring on the Jayhawks.

Good week for OSU sports. I wish we played more a bench though, but I love the fact Duke got blown out. When was there last loss this big?

Im not sure exactly, but they showed a stat during the broadcast that it was the worst loss to a Big Ten team since they lost by 25 to Michigan State in 1958

I think its been assumed that a lot of these freshman were one-and-done'rs long before we saw them play or heard them say what they wanted. Rivers looks like a guy who needs to broaden his horizons, pass the ball more, create for his team-mates and become a more complete player. The best way to do that is at the college level where he's a big component on an elite team. It was nice to see him playing more of a true PG position, and I think there's some potential there. But if Coach K thinks Rivers' future is as a PG, I think the kid is going to need at least this year and next to get comfortable in that role.

If they want him to just focus on scoring and become a pure SG, then he could be a one and done. But I really think he's going to need to show off that floater and step-back as much as possible for teams to feel 100% certain about him. The kids got incredible handles, a nice stroke, and an amazing knack for getting to the basket and/or getting fouled on the way there.

The more I watch him, the more I think he needs to wait until 2013. Even if he finishes this year as one of, if not the best scorers in the draft...I think another year under Coach K could really make him a complete player by the time he hits the NBA.
