#19: Cameron Erving, C/G, Florida State

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
uhh ok? Dupree would have been a bust as well. Just because he is better than arguably the worst lineman we have had in a decade doesn't mean he's worth shit

Either way, we probably shouldn't have picked Erving nor a lot of the guys we did.

Right. It was a terrible pick. Dupree also would have been a shit pick.

I'm getting sick of people acting like everything the Stillers do is the right move. They've been pretty mediocre at drafting lately as well. A few big hits have kept them above water. and Pig Pen of course

Their drafting record compared to ours though is night and day. Hopefully this new regime stays in place and keeps drafting well

So long as it doesn't go: Mack leaves, Thomas retires, Erving doesn't pan out, and Bitonio gets injured.

In all seriousness, our line is looking quite promising.

Holy shit if it weren't for Joe Thomas being the very definition of steadfast.....

Did you see the word lately or what?

Who can forget such studs as Artie Burns, Bud Dupree, and Jarvis Jones in the first round

Haha tell me who the Browns have been getting? Lol
Haha Danny Shelton, Christian Kirksey, and Joel Bitonio are already established

Then we have about 40 players who are young and like 20 of them have shown promise. Ogbah ended last season on fire. I'm high on a lot of the Browns picks, but I get it. It's more fun to say lol Browns haha Steelers straight from the playbook of Tony Grossi

We haven't really kept a lot of guys we drafted within the last 5 years, but since the new regime got here, at least the guys seem to be able to draft competent players.

Interesting: Fellow 2015 draft first round bust Laken Tomlinson was just traded to the Niners after losing his left guard job. What a crappy draft for depth.

I'd say that has as much to do with the shit drafting of previous regimes as anything else.

This new regime seems pretty no-nonsense. If they see someone out there who isn't worth what they're being paid, they get rid of them, either via trade or cut.

Shelton, Kirksey, Bitonio.

Farmer, Farmer, Farmer.

I know we like to shit on Ray but Kirksey was a big hit, Bitonio as well. Shelton is doing alright too. Unfortunately he's got the stink of 2 1st rounders out of the league and Cam Erving.

I'm amused that BOTH Erving and Mingo were eventually cut loose for 5th rounders.

Ray Farmer had a failed view of how to build the Browns and set the franchise back at least three seasons. He put up little resistance to keep players in their prime and signed free agents over the hill while drafting their eventual replacements. The drafted players then didn't show much urgency to unseat the vets. They had to essentially tank and trade away the present draft assets in 2016 and 2017 to create a more viable future.

I do believe Farmer gets too much heat for the picks failing. His scouts had been the Browns for several GMs and we're never good at finding draft value. The Farmer plan was still unsuccessful.

Argued last night on FB with Chief fans. They were saying how good Irving was and how we just fucked him up. Me and a couple other Browns fans tried to explain to them how bad Cam was...........they were having none of it.

How would Dupree have been a bad pick?

He isn't good at football

He doesn't make an impact on the stat sheet, he doesn't make an impact when you watch him

For an objective opinion he grades out a little worse than dog shit by PFF. People just assume that every pick the Stillers make is a great one. Their track record has included plenty of misses lately.
