1st Round Cavaliers vs Wizards Game 1

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Thompson actually said 'I'm glad it went in' in response to a made three pointer by the Wiz. He had a conversation to relay about every member of the Wizards coaching staff but apparently never talked to the Cavs coaches. Hell he even mentioned talking to Don Nelson recently- but still, no Cavs talk. Said the Wiz somehow 'gained confidence' despite getting blown out at the end. Constantly criticized LeBron. Any and all game analysis was about how the Wizards did this well, didn't do this well, could do this better, on and on. Apparently we were supposed to win every quarter by 20 or we weren't doing our job. TNT should be ashamed of that broadcast, it was an embarrassment.

TNT & ESPN announcers talk like LeBron should score 50 every game. And if he doesn't, it's cause he's dogging it. Walton does it, Thompson does it, meathead Barkley does it every time he's on halftime. Jealous much?

Thompson was a good coach, but he doesn't know the Cavs or Wiz. How much has he seen them, once? I bet he didn't know a thing until he reviewed game film last night in his hotel room. And he still doesn't know the teams. All he said today was a bunch of tired cliches.

Everybody, even Z, looked good. He didn't show up against the Wiz a year ago. Today he helped a lot with points and boards. Varejao was great with 10 boards, 4 OR. Cavs dominated the inside game.

Larry was on fire, hitting most of his j's. If he's consistent in this series and next, he'll be a major player.

Cavs moved the ball around and got a lot of inside points.

Cavs should win it in 5 at the most. If this goes 6, they're gonna be in trouble. But it doesn't look like the Wiz can hang with them.

Yeah Thompson was really the story of the game...we knew the Cavs would win but christ I want this series over with...It's terrible that because the Wizards are garbage we get the freaking B List announcers..

At this point I could live with B list... Thompson is more like D list.

I'm very satisfied with the team effort and the win. Sure, we didn't stomp on them like I was hoping, but we were dictating the pace the entire time. The 2 times they sneaked back to within 4, Z or someone else calmly nailed their FTs and we pulled back out front.

Also very happy with the home crowd, they represented well.

According to Thompson, the Wizards will have confidence because of this game!

Nice to see that Z has overcome his "nerves". Airballs, gator arms and limited foot movement for rebounds.

Z is nervous. He is mentally weak.

This game was classic Cavaliers basketball since Mike Brown took over.

Cavs held the Wizards to .367% from the field, won the rebounding battle by 6, and won the FT attempt battle by 14. I don't buy into what TNT was trying to force feed into our heads today that the Cavaliers need to increase the tempo and create more possession since the Wizards don't have many scorers and would be more likely to get into foul trouble. That's not Cavalier basketball, it never has been since Mike Brown's been here and it doesn't look like it will be either.

Strong defense + crashing the glass + getting to the line = Cavalier basketball and today it led to a fairly smooth 15 point win.

Z did a nice job today...and did it when it mattered most - in the fourth quarter.

It seemed like everyone at the game knew that it would be an easy game, and it was. Having a 7 point lead at half wasnt good enough and a 15 point win wasnt good enough for the tnt crew. So did they expect a 30 point win???

Cavs have to find a way to control Jamison. I don't think it can be done with mostly Cavs PF's. Jamison has more of a SF's game. Control Jamison better and it should lead to a sweep.

Lebron can guard Jamison. Definitely not Gooden nor Varejao. Our PFs tend not to do well against guys who can post up and the ability to shoot from outside. We've seen it in last season's playoffs against Washington when Lebron played a lot of PF or guarded Jamison and it succeeded. Why not do it again?
