2008 MLE Targets

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

I dunno man, I watched him in Washington for several years and saw first hand that this guy has no desire to win basketball games. A guy like that on your team is a cancer and smart organizations like the Spurs don't add pieces like this to a Championship puzzle. It is a better idea to go for someone with less natural talent and a better work ethic. Someone like Reggie Evans really comes to mind who is an emotional leader for the Sixers.

Reggie really doesn't have an offensive game.. If were going for big guys.. They have to have offensive abilities.. Like Malik Allen maybe? I'm not sure if hes a FA though.

I didn't really mean to go after Reggie, I just meant that we should have guys like him and not like Kwame.

I don't see the Cavs spending big money in free agency. They'll look at trades more and concentrate on resigning Gibson and West. If FA's get signed it will likely be more Devin Brown level signings.

If we're talking about MLE level players 3 come to mind for the Cavs even though I don't think they'll use the full MLE on a player.
The 3 are Beno Udrih, Josh Childress and Nenad Krstic.
Udrih brings the type of PG skills that should fit well here and has a game that would allow him to play alongside West or Gibson at times. Doubt the Cavs go after him since they have 2 young PG's already.

Childress brings a solid consistent all around game. That isn't something we can get from any other wing player other than LeBron now. He'd be a much more reliable and much better option than players like Sasha or Brown.

Krstic had become a 15 pt. 7 reb. C with good perimeter shooting ability before the knee injury. Could become a long term replacement for Z who can bring some of the same type of skills. Would take a big contract to get him but it would be a good time to jump at the chance with the Nets in their current state and Krstic still coming back from injury.

My top 5:

1) Bostjon Nachbar PF Nets
2) Ryan Gomes PF T'Wolves
3) Roger Mason- G Wiz
4) Mo Evans- G/F Magic
5)SLEEPER- Janero Pargo

The Hornets have no reason to trade Pargo.. They got rid of Bobby Jackson because they felt Pargo could be the sole PG off the bench.

MLE Targets mean players the Cavs can go after without having to worry about trade...

I believe Pargo is either a FA, or has a player option on his contract to make him a FA...

Oh, my bad, I figured he was still signed for some reason.

I think Childress could really fit in here with the Cavs. I watched him play in the Hawks-Celts series, and he didn't really standout like say Josh Smith or JJ, but he was definitely involved with a lot of what went right with the Hawks. He's a long guard-wing player that looks like he would buy into the defensive philosophies of Mike Brown. Would be the best 2 guard on the team, but is definitely best as a 6th man.

I think the MLE could bring him in b/c the Hawks will probably be committing big $ to Josh Smith, so resigning Childress may be difficult for ATL. Would make Sasha more expendable than he already is. For some reason, I just feel like Childress would be the type of player the Cavs want to bring to this organization.

We need to go after J.R. Smith. He would be a very good fit here.

I want Childress, but if he comes to Cleveland, it'd kill his numbers for my fantasy team and I would cry.

maybe a stupid question but could delonte or boobie get the mle from the cavs>?

I want to give negative rep for everytime I see J.R. Smith mentioned.

Can you make that happen for me Glen?

Why do you hate JR Smith so much? This post doesn't really explain much, other then you think he's a bad fit for Cleveland. JR Smith would be a huge upgrade at our SG position. He's definatly better then Sasha or Wally.
