I noticed JJ played well looking at stats and hearing from others. I find it interesting before the game, I saw an interview where Lebron was giving his teammates props, especially JJ. He said he took JJ with him everywhere this offseason, training and helping him train. I thought that was big and great leadership from Lebron. He said he saw something special in JJ and that's why he did that.

ALso I see Cleavland has no love for Daniel. This dude had an injury and has to get back into the flow of things, yet he still had the same stats as MO. What's MO's excuse?

It was much less Gibsons fault for the EFC lost than it was MO's. How soon we forget Gibson was Lebron's right hand man helping them make it to the finals which is to be appreciated in itself. Mo sure couldn't help now could he?
I mean seriously I really don't understand why he is so overrated he. CLeveland fans act like he is the Scottie Pippen to Cavs basketball or something.

Did you just compare Gibson to Mo.:gtfo:

What did Boobie Gibson work on all summer? It damn sure wasn't his point guard skills.

I get the impression that he chose to work on Keyshia Cole all summer instead of his game.
(I'd like to "lol" about that, but I'm not looking forward to the on-court results if I'm right.)

**Ooops. Just saw IBleedWine&Gold's reply....he beat me to the thought. Co-sign IBW&G**

Man, I forgot how much I missed Austin Carr, Z shooting the pick and pop, Fred talking about the Rubber Rim and even the BeepBeep.com commercial. It's great to have Cavs basketball back in my life.

All Delonte news aside (get well Brother Red), last night was pretty fun to see all the new Cavaliers out on the court for the first time. Looks like Shaq wasn't fully up to speed or was only giving about 60% on defense because the interior D looked pretty bad last night.

I think Varejao has the potential to be a monster this year - not necessarily in terms of stats, but more of how his presence will impact the game. On defense, he was all over the perimeter and really worked well with Parker to force some turnovers. Having Shaq to clog the lane seems like that will open up AV to patrol the wing more, and force turnovers with double teams. On offense, AV looked more polished (probably from playing on the Brazilian national team) with a nifty post up, turn-around move early on, while playing under control with the ball. I think the play that will give a lot of teams nightmares is AV setting a pick on the wing/perimeter for LeBron and then rolling to the middle of the lane as LeBron drives with Shaq flashing from the weakside. It happened once last night and resulted in an uncontested LeBron layup, but defenses will have to pick their poison on that play.

I came away very impressed with Moon who looked very springy last night. His D last night must have made Mike Brown drool a bit. Looks like he takes care of the ball well, although I thought he hoisted too many threes last night.

I'm withholding the giddiness for JJ only because it's preseason and it's the Bobcats, but the young fella looked impressive on offense, and while his defense will probably hold him back early on, I definitely saw him trying to do little things like box out.

Parker looks like he's still finding his way on offense, but he fit well in the scheme of things. Also, I liked how Danny Green was always around the ball and was involved somehow in the play especially on defense. He's not a spectacular athlete, but his awareness on the court and ability to play within himself should earn him a roster spot.

Didn't come away impressed with Gibson or Darnell. Gibson showed flashes late in garbage time, but in the first half he looked like the second coming of Damon Jones dribbling up the court. Time will tell if he can find his shot. Darnell, I like the heart and hustle, and his footwork on defense is impeccable, but he plays way too small to be a big man. I think the only way he makes it in this league is if he watches some tape of Craig Smith or vintage Ben Wallace.

It was at least nice to see the end of the bench guys competing for that last spot. Not sure why Kurz got no minutes, while Karl looks like he really wants to stick around.

Three weeks to the real thing.

I sure hope this is the real J.J.. Lebron worked him this summer, and so far, so good.

If he emerges to the point of starting over Andy, we should be the best team in the NBA.

Even if he doesn't overtake Andy's starting spot, he will still be a great big off the bench and we will still be the best team in the NBA.:king:

Im not so concerned with who starts or anything in the 1st quarter. I do think JJ should be on the floor with Shaq more, and Andy should be on the floor with Z more. Then we always have the inside/out working. I have a feeling MBrown wont figure it out and we will either have Andy and Shaq in the middle cloggin it up, then JJ and Z tryin to take jumpers.

With the lineup we have, starting is more honorary then anything else, we have 9 very strong rotational players that can be intermixed to show different looks effectively, possibly 10 or 11 if Boobie and Powe show up. I hope Brown dosent get caught up in the 1st unit / 2nd unit game that ends up killing us.

Its nice to have some guys, like Lebron and Mo, get the same rest, same minutes every night, so they are not over used, but i dont want to see us get predictable with the whole rotation all season long, the better coaches in the league pounce on us for that.
