2012 MLB Draft Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Annnnd nevermind.

The Pirates capitalize...

And there he goes. Thanks for nothing, Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh's trio of Gerrit Cole, Jamison Taillon and Mark Appel is one of the best group of pitching prospects in MLB history.

I mean that is a serious group of talent.

Heaney off the board...

David Dahl is a really good player.

Like Grady Sizemore but with out the Bro-ness.

Starting to believe the Indians may surprise the industry and take a bat.

Richie Shaffer (3B - Clemson), Stephen Piscotty (3B - Stan.) and Hawkins (OF - HS) all still there...

Courtney Hawkins is the epitome of a Kenny Williams pick.

High ceiling athlete with some raw power.

Would expect him to come off the board here.

If this is the case, who do you like? Why? Also how long until the Indians pick?

Hmm...Look at that, I'm an oracle.

Piscotty seems like an Indians pick, don't know much about him but he could develop into a very good hitter.

Two picks to go.

If they go after a hitter (which I hope they don't), I would go with Shaffer because I think he's the safer bet to stay in the infield.

If I'm drafting, I'm taking either one of the prep pitchers...Lucas Giolito (RHP from Cali who touched 100 before an arm injury ended his prep season) or Ty Hensley (RHP from Oklahoma)

Among the collegiate pitchers left I'm taking Stratton.

Travieso is a reach there. Another one of the guys on the Team USA squad I worked for in 2010.

Lots of arm strength, but the delivery and arm problems are a huge concern.

Chris Stratton is my final guess...
