Championship Game - Saturday, March 15th

1-Western Michigan vs 2-Toledo

Toledo will go in as the favorite, but certainly not locks.

Will Akron get Harney back? That will factor in to the Zips run.

When was the last time Akron or Kent did not win the tournament?

Didn't OU beat Michigan and Georgetown in the NCAA tourney recently?

Also, I remember Doug Penno's miracle banked 3 for Miami not too long ago

Akron has been in the MAC Championship game in the last 7 years I believe -- They got screwed on two of them lol. That Miami game pissed me off.

2013 - Akron over Ohio
2012 - Ohio over Akron
2011 - Akron over Kent State
2010 - Ohio over Akron
2009 - Akron over Buffalo
2008 - Kent State over Akron
2007 - Miami over Akron

I'd agree Toledo will go in as the favorite. However, this league is WIDE OPEN. I could see any of Toledo, Akron, Buffalo, Ohio, or even a sleeper like Western Michigan to win the tournament.

I meant Ohio, not Kent......brain fart there.

I dont buy into WMU, but I believe it is wide open. The hardest thing for Toledo will be putting it together for 3 games in a row. I don't know if they have the maturity for that.

Toledo loses to EMU, Ohio beats Buffalo...big day already in the MAC. I'll update the OP after the remaining games play out!

Well, Ohio just pissed away their chance at a bye to the semis. Don't think the Cats have a title run in them this year.

How about Western Michigan though? Wow...

Getting a top four seed is going to be huge. Winning five straight games is a tall task for any team this season, and that's what seeds 5-12 would need to do.

Didn't want to start a new thread for the Horizon League.

CSU is locked into 2nd place with 1 game to play. They will get an auto bye to the conference semi-finals, which will be played ay Wisconsin-Green Bay. They will likely play either Wright State (split during reg season, road team winning) or Valpo (CSU won at home, road game upcoming). If they win, they likely will play at WGB to go to the dance. If UWGB loses their semi-final, CSU would host the finals.

NIU beats Toledo, Miami beats Akron...what a wacky MAC hoops night.

Kent State is starting to lose games at the wrong time....ugh.
