2015 NFL Offseason Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Hearing, and let me know if this is old, that the Bills like Hoyer.... They won't ask him to throw a ton.

Hoyer and Sanchez are the only (fringe) starting caliber QB's available in free agency, so it should just be a matter of preference. Hoyer would probably make sense for them. He would be happy there too because he could be gifted the starting QB job and not have any real competition, which we know he likes. And with a solid defense and running game there's no reason he cant duplicate the kind of season Kyle Orton had with Buffalo last year. Hoyer is no franchise QB, but he can be an average starter and win you 7-9 games.

Da fuq? (However, they're probably right on the Bills making the playoffs, despite Hoyer)

Matt Cassel was just traded to Buffalo for two draft picks.

Which means someone chose trading away two draft picks instead of signing Brian Hoyer. Probably not a good sign for his chances to find a potential starting role.

I feel like Hoyer isn't gonna get an opportunity to be a starter anywhere unless Tennessee wants him

Seems like Hoyer just might be pushing his desire to be an unquestioned starter a bit too far. Can't blame him for wanting to be "The Guy" while trying to secure some contract length, but he's not that...

If Hoyer ends up behind Bridgewater in Minny, he blew it.

Agent also blew it who told him to bet on himself

Oh absolutely... Joe Linta has a nose for money, not an eye for talent. Made the mistake of assuming Hoyer was Flacco...

Or even that the Browns were going to somehow inflate Hoyer's value over the past season, which would be a first since '99.

Rex and the new GM are really hitting the ground running... right over a bridge. Hopefully Farmer will get in on this and we can get their second rounder for some 10c/gal off coupons.

I'd throw in pics of my feet to sweeten the pot.

Way too early to say. Teams are still weighing in on drafting a QB or going for a veteran. Hoyer may end up in a situation where he is the veteran starter behind a developmental QB and starts around half the games, might also be a starter in Tennessee or Houston. Let's see how this shakes out.

Don't know how legit this guy is but

and Schefter has confirmed it

So if Marshall went for a late round pick and the Bears are supposedly asking for a 2nd or 3rd for Cutler, would you have traded a 3rd & a 5th for the duo?

I know each guy has their issues, and I'm not totally fond of Cutler, but sadly enough he'd be the best QB we've had since the return. You still could have taken another WR in the 1st and then use the other 1st for an OT or an NT.

I wouldn't be totally against Cutler if the price is right. If the Browns were to add an OT and a healthy Mack returns, we have a significantly better O-Line than Cutler has ever played behind in Chicago.

Obviously the skill positions aren't great, but we have the picks and the money to be able to make significant upgrades in that area. I'd rather do that than package a bunch of picks to move up or reach on a guy in the 2nd.
