Its been five years since the 2016 draft.

I thought it would be interesting to see how that draft has turned out so far. Obviously, the Indians hit the jackpot with Bieber (4th round...13.9 fWAR), Civale (3rd...3.4), Plesac (12th...3.4), but overall, how have others done?

So far, I've looked at the first round.

The most productive first round draftee in terms of fWAR has been Cal Quantrill at 3.6. Only two others have been worth at least 2 WAR.....Ian Anderson (3.0) and Kyle Lewis (2.5)

Some notable names in the first round were Moniak, Senzel, Kirilloff, Lux, and Matt Manning.

In the Compensation Round A...

Lauer has been worth 4.6 fWAR.
Dave Dunning...2.4.
Will Smith...7.5
Dylan Carlson...3.0
Dakota Hudson ...1.7

In the Competitive Balance Round A...

Nobody has done anything yet. The big name was Trammell.

Other 2016 draft picks for the mix:
Scott Moss by Cinci
Daniel Johnson by Washington

From the second round...

Keegan Akin....1.4
Reynolds....8.7
Solack....1.4
Alonso....8.3
Bichette....7.5
Baddoo...1.7

From the third round...

Sean Murphy....5.4
Austin Hays...3.1
Dustin May...2.0
Zac Gallen...4.5

From the fourth round...

Corbin Burnes...9.7
Lucchesi...4.0
Bobby Dalbec...1.3

Of the first 136 players drafted in 2016, twenty one have been worth over one fWAR in five years.

Of those 21, the biggest producers have been...

Bieber
Burnes
Reynolds
Alonso
Will Smith

Of those 21, three are in the Guardians rotation. A fourth productive one, from far back in the draft, is, too.
