2018-19 Season Game #1 | Cleveland Cavaliers @ Toronto Raptors | October 17th, 2018 @ 7:30 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Listen, we don’t want to show all our sets and defensive schemes until the playoffs. Don’t worry.

Kevin Love hasn't been good enough to be a number 1 option at any point in his career.

At least not if contending is the goal.

BTw this isn't me shitting on Love.

I've argued since we made the move people were overrating him (and yet still thought we hsould make the move).

But at no point has he ever been good enough to be a number 1 on a contending team. The talent in MInnesota was good enough a couple of those years to AT LEAST make the playoffs.

And the Cavs aren't paying him like a number 1. He didn't get maxed out. He's paid like an all-star.

As overall, It was a fair match. I believe Lue learned his lesson. If Kevin wouldn't be that bad, we would have been winning the game. (Don't wanna mention TT), I think there is hope guys.. There is hope! also Cedi!! :)

This isn't a bad game. Dumb mistakes by young guys and some poor d is the difference. Some really positive things like Cedi and Zizic. Sexton isn't as bad as people are saying . He needs reps

Cedi looks like our best player. I think Sexton needed to get the monkey off his back with getting his first basket. I think we saw this same thing with him in his first summer league and preseason game.

Hopefully when Nance gets back we can slowly cut TT out of the rotation and Zizic can get his minute. Dekker doesn't look like a NBA rotation player. If the organization actually wants to win, Frye will have to be the backup PF.

Nwaba needs to get minutes. We have the players to put a good defensive group on the floor now. Lue just needs to be willing to throw them on the floor when we need to stop the bleeding.

I'm not gonna argue the overall point, but he didn't really get anything all that close to a max extension. His Final year could have been like 10 million more I think.

Doesn't his salary decrease every year also like Nance does?

Cedi is so damn good, man.

This guy is off to a good start for that 'MIP' award. Toronto is one of the better teams in the league in terms of multiple wing defenders too. Kawhi missed more than a few times when matched with Cedi. (don't let the +/- fool you, he was the Cavs best overall player on the court today).

I liked the fight back in the 3rd/4th quarter after falling behind. Cavs actually outscored Toronto in the 2nd half (by one point).

The main swing in the game was that horrific 2nd quarter stretch.

Well, on to the next.

What about TT’s -20? Was THAT real?

What about TT’s -20? Was THAT real?

:chuckle:

Not gonna fumble over the words needed for that one.

The main issue I have with TT (besides his hands/finishing on the move/slow gathers) from what I see is that his help defense is late and he's encouraged by the coaching staff to switch everything and anything, yet get's blasted over and over. His switches came in handy years ago, but that stretch of good play is forever ingrained into his mind and the coaching staff that he's elite at it.

The day the defensive scheme changes cannot come soon enough.

Clarkson has to go man. He is SO bad. Any success he has is in spite of himself. He’s so freakishly gifted physically, it’s a real shame how he plays. I

TT feels worthless until he does that thing where he fights 3 guys for an offensive rebound. He gives a lot away on offense but I think there may be something to him wearing on teams over the course of a game. The stats will never look pretty though. Analytics or otherwise.

Hill needs to stick around til the year’s end. Sexton isn’t anywhere near ready.

Hood suddenly flashes decent again. He was a casualty of LeBron ball last year.

Kahwi is in no way staying in Toronto...

Well, this is it.

After all my trials and tribulations as a Cavaliers fan, tonight was the final straw.

Goodbye forever.
see you next year when Zion and Young Bull are in the starting lineup for the opener.

so it sounds like we still need an interior defender and Longo to find his way into moving traffic. those two deficiencies will be great tank drivers to accompany lue's inane rotations and playing people who shouldn't be playing.

Bring on the hustle and fun times tho

They're

I hope you're not serious ..

I want each of you to think about what was just done to you... then I want you to PM me with a 500 word essay on what you have learned.

Lebron leaving a second time is a damn shame...

God-damn. That really stings, when you say it that way. He left us not once, but twice. He really did not want to be here. He came back basically to fulfill his promise. So at least there is that. But this is just not where he wanted to be.

- Osman should have been playing regular minutes last year. He was our best player tonight.

- Love was ok. He took some bad shots, but he did what I expect him to do.

- Sexton looked like a rookie until the second half when they abandoned the idea of running any offense. He needs to take his lumps to figure shit out.

- The offense wasn't good, but it wasn't bad for the most part.

- The defense is awful. This switching everything shit has got to go. They have a hard enough time staying in front of their own men, but bigs onto guards and Sexton and Hill on bigs is just a disaster.
