Lebron AD and Kawhi would be some wild 2K shit, but I agree it doesn't guarantee anything. They wouldn't have built any chemistry, and what about injuries? AD and Kawhi are known to be fragile players, Lebron just got his first serious injury last year, and everyone else except Kuzma would be a sucky minimum player. Kuzma is not great either, he's solid but just OK. One injury in their big three and they are very vulnerable. Lebron-AD-Kawhi plus a bunch of minimum players, all thrown together at the last minute, would not be as good as an experienced squad with KD, Curry, Klay, Draymond, and Iggy, Livingston, and other good role players off the bench

And some of the other free agents they could get are traps. Kyrie is super fragile, a threat to team chemistry, and not a real good defender. Butler's playstyle doesn't mesh very well with Lebron. Russell is not worth a max I don't think. If you can add Kevin Durant to an already functioning, deep, integrated team with multiple superstars that was one game away from an NBA title, that gives you an automatic superteam but other than that there are no short cuts.

I really don't think Leonard is going to the Lakers...he seems above that bullshit...Kyrie on the other hand is a wild card...God only knows whats he's going to do...seems like a Butler or lesser player like that will go...it was cool when the Cavs were the beneficiaries of LBJ's manipulations but really the NBA is a joke...name anyone outside of LA that cares about the Lakers

Espn.....

How is that great for the league?

That is GSW II.

We just had our first competitive Finals in 3 years, bc Durant got hurt, and now you are creating another team that will sweep whomever they play in The Finals. It’s boring and stupid.

I don't know, if Milwaukee figures out how to not be predictable, or if TOR/PHI manage to run it back in full with Kawhi/Butler, we could easily be making Le3-7 jokes a year from now, or at least not see a sweep.

Not to mention there will be absolutely no depth if LAL ends up with a 3rd star.

There are a ton of Lakers fans outside of LA or have never lived in LA. They are still the country's most popular basketball team.

*IF* Kawhi goes to the Lakers, its officially the death of the NBA...way more than what KD did with GS. Here's why:

Kawhi loses 50 million dollars if he signs with the Lakers instead of Toronto. He would also be going from a team that just won the title, to a team that missed the playoffs last year and is super dysfunctional at the top. His current team is good, a stable franchise, and can compete again next year; also from a health perspective they have given him everything he could want. Hes viewed as possibly the best player in the game.

So if it's not about money, loyalty, franchise stability, personal health, legacy, chances to win, chances to compete, past success, etc - then it's literally just an obsession that all of these guys have with LA. And if that's the case, just have LA teams in the NBA and stop wasting everyone's time in other cities with this nonsense. Just have 4-5 California based teams since all these "tough" nba players need to be in a warm climate with celebrities so bad. I mean, my God - what a marshmallow league this will be if Kawhi goes to the Lakers.

At least KD was searching for rings, better teammates and a cooler city. Kawhi to Lakers is simply the weakest shit ever. It's not like Toronto isnt an amazing, super cool place to live.

Yeah Lee, they are called flaming frontrunners or Lebron fanboys. Another words, not real basketball fans.

Lebron is so damn weak its a joke at this point
Yep. He doesnt want t o work too hard for anything at this point. Just give him 2 of the top 5 players in tne whole league, on top of himself so he can get a couple very cheap rings as his career winds down. I just watched a whole segment with Rachel Nichols, and crew breaking down the whole Kawhi to LA thing. At the end Rachel literally kind of went weeee, we get to find out in two days! I honestly think if Kawhi did that that would be the deathblow for me and the Nba. No way in hell i could sit through 8 months of an Nba season. Thats not a real sport anymore if they do that. Usually when i pull hard for this type of shit not to happen, it usually does. Something is afoot though, i just dont see Deangelo Russell as the prize Lebron is after. Hope i am wrong.

How can anybody like LeBron?? Seriously.. Even with the Cavs, I couldn't wait til he left. Now that he left, I cant wait until he retires. I barely could watch any games during the 17/18 season. No kyrie to make up for having to watch LeBron?? Can't do it.
