I may be in the minority, but I think the Raptors are in a significantly better position than the Clippers.

  1. East is still an easier path than the West
  2. Bucks are likely going to lose one of Brogdon or Middleton. Even if they dont, Middleton has shown he is not a #2.
  3. Philly is going to lose one of Butler or Harris. While likely overpaying the other to save face. All while trotting out bum ass Ben Simmons.
  4. Raptors only have $14M on the books in 2020 FA.
    1. Lowry, Ibaka, Gasol & Siakim are all FA.
  5. You have a pretty easy chance to run it back next season; then opening up significant cap space in the following year.

Depending how FA shakes out, I think the East is better than the West now.

LOL, the Celtics are in shambles right now. Horford is opting out, Kyrie is definitely outta there. Swing and a miss on Anthony Davis.

I guess it may not have been the worst trade in history after all.

The NBA really is the greatest, dumbest league. I mean, we are a week out from the end of last season and we get AD. Then we get the Lakers tucking up their cap space, CP3, and the Celtics implosion on the same damn day

Wtf is Ainge is thinking? I guess they're just going to concede next season to the Raptors/Bucks/76ers.

Wait, what happened with CP3?

We don't know if Horford has a handshake deal for a new contract like 3 years 60 million. The Spurs did something similar with Gasol a couple seasons ago. I think they want to go out and get a free agent while being able to keep Rozier.

I wouldn't be surprise if the Celtics make an offer for Love. It could be kill two birds with one stone type thing where they get Love and we take on Gordon Hayward at the same time. They have 3 first round picks and that Memphis pick next year.

Rozier-Brown-Tatum-Love-Horford would be a good starting lineup and allow their young guys to truly grow to their ceiling.

Utah getting Mike Conley while keeping Gobert and Mitchell may result in that team being a Western Conference favorite.

I cannot imagine a more perfect PG for Snyder than Conley. He'll free up attention that Mitchell dealt with this season and also be a threat at all spots on the court, unlike Rubio. They gave up a lot, and Conley's contract sucks, but it is a good move for the Jazz.

When they keep striking out, Kevin Love to BOS cap space for the MEM pick :chuckle:

Was it really that much? Korver has talked about possibly retiring. Crowder will get them some assets back when he gets trade to a contender but he gets them a late first or two second rounders. Grayson Allen barely played last year. Then they get the #23 pick and a future pick probably in the 20s.

Yeah, that’s a fair point. It’s basically two late firsts, a young player with mild potential, Crowder, and salary. Still, I think it’s a fair return.
