2018-2019 Tank Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Brown and Griffin wanted Bennett. That is fact. Gilbert had too many cooks. The head coach was in the end given to much power in drafting, which TT, Waiters and Bennett got thumbs up from.

I agree that Grant definitely deferred to Mike Brown and Byron Scott. One of the main jobs of a GM is to draft though so deferring to others to make that decision isn't a good thing. The blame of drafting Bennett ultimately fell on Grant because he had final say on it. If Grant wanted no part of Bennett, he should have trusted that instinct and drafted someone else. It was his job on the line and ultimately lost it because of Bennett and other decisions.

Saying he wanted no part of Bennett is overstating his position. He might not have wanted to draft him but he didn't feel strongly enough to follow thru on it.

He really liked Steven Adams. I would have loved to have that Trade down. I wanted Adams, but he isn't now and wasn't then a realistic #1

We did well This deadline. Didn’t hurt our tanking chances, snagged some picks, got rid of hood, and found a young player in Chriss that we can give some chances to for the rest of the year. Rest of the east was a damn arms race

A LeBron Laker team in the lottery frightens me and it should frighten you too.

Cav's made four trades this season and netted two first round picks and six second round picks.

That's why I hope they make the playoffs and get knocked out in the first round. Melo and LeBron probably push them to the playoffs.

Why?
Lebron will have the Lakers trade the pick for one of his washed up old friends.

You don't want the league to gift the Lakers a top 4 pick. Hope they make the playoffs and they can't jump anyone in the lottery.

Ben McLemore is going to be waived by the Kings...any chance the Cavs take a chance on him? He is a SG, afterall...remember wanting him the year he was drafted.

I think the reason why the Cavs wanted to get rid of Chriss is they wanted the extra roster spot for someone like McLemore. Blossomgame's 45 days have to be close to up and I have to think they want to keep him. We don't have a roster spot for anyone if we sign Blossomgame to the 15 man roster. We will have a two way but someone like McLemore isn't eligible for a two way contract.
