We have the Draft Thread.
We have the Free Agency Thread.
We have the Coaching Thread (2019 :chuckle:)

Let's put it all together and continue the talk, especially after the FA and the Draft are complete.

Here is my plan for the Browns off season.

Free Agency:
Let go:
Isaiah Crowell

Sign:
Allen Robinson, WR
Sam Bradford, QB
Jeremy Hill, RB
Ziggy Ansah, DE

Draft
#1 Sam Darnold, QB
#4 Minkah Fitzpatrick, DB
#33 Ronald Jones, RB
#35 Mike McGlinchey, OT
#63 Jerome Baker, LB

QB: Bradford/Darnold/Kizer
RB: Jones/Hill
3rd Down Back/Slot Receiver: Duke Johnson
FB: Dan Vitale
WR: Robinson/Gordon/Coleman/Higgins/Louis
TE: Njoku/Devalve/Telfer
OT: Thomas/Drango/Coleman/McGlinchey
G: Bitonio/Zietler/Banner
C: Tretter/Reiter

DT: Shelton/Ogunjobi/Meter/Brantley/Coley
DE: Garrett/Ansah/Ogbah/Nassib/Orchard
LB: Collins/Kirksey/Shobert/Baker
CB: Fitzpatrick/McCourty/Taylor/Boddy-Calhoun/Wilson
FS: Kindred/Nacua
SS: Peppers/Currie

We will have drafted BPA with need factored in. We will have spent a lot of money in free agency but outside of Bradford, we would have spent that money on free agents coming off their rookie deals. We still have a young team but we have a lot of talent in key spots. Secondary is still a weakness and it's hard to count on the WRs given their history. However; this is a solid all around team and it's ready to start winning games now.

Have at it

I am going to assume Jax makes Robinson thier number one priority.
That leaves Lee as a realistic option.
I woukd like to sign a vet wr and draft two more. One early And one in the mid rounds like Berrios. Gordon and Coleman are still huge variables for obvious reasons. Not drafting a wr is not a smart move in my opinion even with a vet on board.

Not sure why they break the bank for Ziggy.

I am interested as to why Detroit is willing to let him walk, but I am interested. I think that he is what Ogbah's could one day become.

The offseason plan should be to fill as many holes with slight overpayments in free agency as the Browns can, then look for the future cornerstones of the franchise in the first four rounds of the draft. If you can talk a free agent to take the money to go to a struggling franchise, it will cost money.

FS - Try for Tre Boston from the Chargers and LaMarcus Joyner of the Rams. Back the Brinks truck up. If you strike out try to grab a guy over the hill like Reggie Nelson for insurance.

CB - You can never have enough, and the Browns lack a #1 corner. I see Bashaud Breeland of Washington as a guy who could take the money from one poorly run franchise to try his luck with another as a richer man.

LB Depth - Don't break the bank, but try for a signing who still has coverage skills or pass rush skills and can step in if there's an injury. Somebody like Eric Walden of the Titans or Jonathan Casillas from the Giants would be perfect. If not, draft.

VET QB - This spot, like other high price free agent opportunities, will be the Browns throwing above-market money for a guy to accept a worse situation than others. Go ahead and try for Cousins or Bradford... but I think they would rather earn less money at a more stable location. If A.J. McCarron is a UFA, I think he's the bridge guy. If he is a RFA, we will all try to talk ourselves into Chase Daniels.

Offensive Tackle - The Browns could use a solid starter at right tackle, and give Shon Coleman a chance to hold the left down while Joe Thomas gets healthy. I like either Breno Giacomini or Byron Bell for cheap. No reason to break the back on a right tackle.

OFFENSIVE SKILL POSITIONS - Throw money around at big name RB and WR, see who will take it. I think they have a chance at a combination like Marquise Lee and Carlos Hyde. I think the Browns will end up with Anthony Sherman, blocking fullback of the Chiefs, to fill that Randall Telfer job of protecting the QB and opening holes. Throw the money around, its the only chance they have of players volunteering to be a Brown.

After the holes are filled, the pressure is off during the draft. When in doubt, go for the best talent.

My wild guesses:
1. Darnold QB
4. Trade down but still end up with either Minkah or Ward CB
33. Ronnie Harrison FS
35. Michel RB
63. DJ Chark WR
65. Shaquem Griffin LB
103. Kevin Tolliver CB
125. Allen Lazard WR
140. Brandon Parker OT
Rest of picks, BPA

Ward is a Buckeye so we all know that won't be happening. Minkah or bust.

Browns have some serious talent in the front office... keep Haslam the hell away from any picks and let’s finally have a home run draft

Why? I thought the issue in Washington was Bruce Allen and Snyder.

“He’s a good player,” McCloughan told Mike Pritchard and Cecil Lammey. “Is he special? I don’t see special. But also, we were still building a roster around him to make him special. Jay Gruden does a great job play-calling. [Former Redskins offensive coordinator-turned-Los Angeles Rams Coach] Sean McVay did a great job play-calling to put him in positions to be successful.
