Josh Gordon announces he will miss start of Browns training camp

Josh Gordon’s return to the field for a full season is one of the biggest reasons for excitement in Cleveland. The Browns wideout is a major part of the team’s upgraded weaponry after missing most of the last three years with numerous drug-related suspensions.

So it’s a little disturbing to see Gordon announce on his own, in oddly formal language, that he will miss the beginning of Browns training camp this week. “Flash” made his declaration on Twitter:

Click the link in OP.
I did. I'm still trying to figure out if this is a good thing (meaning part of some plan) or a bad thing (relapsed and knows he'll fail a drug test so is leaving - sort of what he did a few years ago).

I am hoping that Josh, his agent and the Browns are simply trying to keep him away from the spectacle that is Hard Knocks. God I hope that's all it is……….

Shocking development.

Anyways, suspension or not, he can’t be relied on as many of us have said.

It’s literally a planned absence by the Browns. How is that not reliable?

Pretty sure my comment was before we heard from Schefter.

That said, if anyone is counting on him, that would be foolish. A position maintained by many for several seasons now.

Who doesn't wish they could have a few more days off when their vacation is coming up on its end? Josh is just using PTO time. Nothing to see here.

Glad we started a new thread to talk about the exact same things that are being talked about in the other thread.

Whats wrong with a thread centered around training camp discussion? Its not like there was a 46 page 2017 training camp thread or anything...

My issue with the whole thing:

If it's just a planned absence that was always going to happen and is part of a plan, why didn't Dorsey announce it for him?

Why didn't the organization soften the blow for us instead of making him address it/tweet it?

There's already a thread with pages dedicated to this Josh Gordon discussion. Why start a Josh Gordon thread and call it a Training Camp thread?

Sorry...this is really a dumb argument to have, but the redundancy on this board can be irritating at times.

To be fair, this thread would have been opened regardless. It’s the first news related to camp.

Agree on the same convos in multiple threads, though.

So on the 22nd (THE NUMBER 22), Josh Gordon decided to leave the Browns. LOL
