2019-20 Cavaliers Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't like how these people carry this "We only won because of LeBron" view of the Cavs. You can literally say that about any other team that ever won a championship, strip them of their Curry's, Kawhi's, etc and they would be trash. We were 2 injuries away from back to back championships
yep Curry and Klay go out and GSW goes from best to worst immediately.
So when is the NBA gonna start playing again?
I am guessing they should let the non playoff rosters like Cavs call it a season and go right into their
off seasons.
I am a bit surprised they are tenatively planning resuming the season given the news is reporting the number of covid cases are probably going to soar with everyone going back to how things used to be.
Maybe we shouldn't just yet is what I am thinking. Maybe if there were not so many cases with no obvious symptoms it would be easier to avoid the sick idk

Yep possibly the dumbest thing especially considering the team the cavs beat to win the rchampionship. All this Mj talk recently with that doco, well ok then how many rings do Chicago have without him? Why aren't they viewed as a complete garbage organisation. How many rings do the Heat have without Wade? etc

Not basketball related but thd Cavs released a statement about the George Floyd incident.

Looks like our season is officially over...

I would hope these 4 teams would get together for their fans and play on their own at a central location. Have their own playoffs and championship...Cavs vs Warriors? LOL!!!

I think that's a great idea to have the non-playoff teams assemble at a central location and have a brief training camp and tournament. For the rest of the league to play, but exclude the Cavs and others, is a distinct disadvantage. Maybe the Warriors don't, but the Cavs need player development opportunities. That might be a good replacement for no summer league.

Yeah lockout level length of time between playing. Not good for young guys.

So apparently the last game of the finals is scheduled for october 12th,,,so when would the 2020-2021 nba season start?
When would be able to see the cavs on the court again?
I thought they were shooting for Christmas Day to restart next season,,,is that couple months enough of an offseason?
It may be pushing a year from the last game the cavs played to when we see them again.

It's an interesting question. From what you hear from guys like Windhorst, there are a lot of people in the NBA that think a Christmas time start is the best idea and some will want to keep it going forward. I think of any changes during the virus, this is the one that is most likely to stick.

It used to be the schedules was nestled between Baseball and Football, but there is not as much fan overlap with baseball anymore and all their ratings say it's probably not worth airing games until Christmas anway. Excitement starts with the big matchups. Football is so popular, and ratings will be super sky high this year. Originally they were going to try to avoid the start of the NFL season, but they don't have enough time now.

Turnaround time is going to be really short for playoff teams. Guys like Lebron are not going to be playing in preseason games is my guess. It will be interesting to see if guys are less rusty to start the season or if guy run out of gas late next season. I think I can appreciate what toll a postseason run can have on you after the Warriors Cavs series.

No home court advantage, no fans, Christmas start dates. There is going to be a lot of weird stuff related to this year.

So long TT, so long Delly. It looks like they have played their last game for the Cavs. I will remember them fondly. They are part of the Cavs Championship.

As long as our spot in the draft is secure I'm cool with this. Sucks Delly won't get a sign-off

I expected it, but would have been a nice distraction.
It would have been..for me recovering from this patellar tendon surgery..if I recall some of the teams didn't want every team in this playoff..soooo I don't like it either.
