What I dont get with Doncic's game is that he has no elite burst, no unreal jumping ability, and his jumpshot is slow and yet he keeps getting layups.

he doesn’t have elite burst going north south but he does going laterally. Similar in vein to james harden. Also has an elite bbiq to use his size and shift to create space or contact

Kinda reminds me of Baron Davis when he didn't have his burst anymore. He would just keep moving and lull you to sleep trying to keep him in front of you. Has the handle and strength to get where he wants to go. Some guys just have that dipsy do.

This is a WIDE OPEN season.

I dunno how we'll remember whoever wins this title. Not meaning quite as much, I suppose. But we could really, really get someone weird. To me, Toronto is the favorite at this point.

Hearing Oliver announce a LeBron playoff game is nostalgic as fuck.

this is also the typical *wait until the 4th quarter* Game 1 of a playoff series for LeBron.

Steve Nash was not awesome athletically, but his handle was so good, he made defenders look foolish. So Doncic does not have to be Dwayne Wade fast. He is big, has the IQ and the shooting skills, plus a handle .. Not a guy you stop. That said, he has to mature in the focus department. Turnovers killed him.

AD will bounce back (he needs to cool it on the KD impressions) and I don't think it's possible for the Lakers guards to play any worse moving forward lol. However, I don't see anyway this team moves forward without aggressive 2015/2018 playoff LeBron because I think the Blazer can play better as well (Gary Trent was awful until the big shot and Nurkic was in foul trouble and was out of rhythm).

Lakers are boring. To me, the most entertaining team is the Mavericks.
It was embarrasing to watch Harden last night falling on his bum on every 3pt shot he attempted. He should get a technical for that shit. Can't even contest him at all even when the shot clock is at 0.5 and he has nothing to do but shoot a 3.
Terrible product out there as it is now widespread; not to the same level as Harden, but it's getting closer.

But James Harden stats blah.

I hadn't noticed how much Dame Lillard tries to get 3pt shot fouls called until last night either.

The flopping on jump shooting is awful right now.

And the NBA better wake the hell up. Their ratings have been steadily decreasing for a while now.

I think most of it is the formation of the super teams and the constant player movement. It makes for fascinating off-seasons, and initially it drew in eyeballs.

But as fans lose reasons to root for their teams, knowing players won't stay, the ratings have followed.

But I also think the product is suffering on the court. Changes need to be made.

I think fans would be more ok with "constant player movement" if it didn't consistently gravitate towards CA/FL teams/Boston.

Whatever you want to say about his other Decisions, LeBron moving back to CLE was a literally one-in-a-gazillion exception of an elite UFA in his prime moving to a less glamorous market.

Toronto rolling the dice on Kawhi, even though it ended with him going to LA, was also a nice exception because it gave one of two breaks by cold-weather, less-glamorous-market teams against the GS dynasty.

I still like Unibrow, but him forcing out to CA was just another of the same old stories. Even though Griff cashed in nicely, and Zion may very well be the real deal, he could easily have his eyes on the exit and we'll be dealing with this same story again.

Wth MIL limping into and through the postseason since the restart, will Giannis want to stay, or will it be another same old story?

Dame emerging as arguably a legitimate supermax-worthy player just this season, who wants to stay in POR has been nice, because mid-market teams like them feel like they "have" to overpay for faux-superstars, and it was looking like he was going to be one.
