I really don't get team's (The Nets in this case) obsession with having 3 star players vs having more/actual depth.

Levert, Allen, and Dinwiddie are all talented players just entering their prime years ( In Allen's case still a few years out from his prime) with some playoff experience.. IDK it just seems like the Nets have more than enough talent to be championship competitive on paper without Harden. I'm honestly not sure they'd be a better team with Harden and minus the younger players than they'd bet standing pat.

They would be smarter to trade Kyrie for Harden IMO.

The thing is Harden has NO leverage at all! He still has like 3 years left on his contract. So the Rockets have two years to make a trade that helps their team in the long run.

The real reason is they are afraid that their own stars will be pissed and make their own demands if it doesn’t get pulled off.

Yep, the Champs making moves really puts pressure on everyone.

People have really bought into the 3 star requirement for a chip

You just had the Laker win it all with only 2 superstars though, and the Raptors won the year before with 1.5. Now granted both AD and Lebron are a tier or two above Kyrie and it remains to be seen how good Durant will be when he comes back, but at the same time, I'd probably take the Nets supporting cast over the Lakers supporting cast currently.

Hate it had to be him. Time to see what a Curry led team can do in a loaded west... they should probably think long and hard about tanking again this year. My guess is that they've bled too much money and will need to trade D. Green, if they struggle early on. Next after that will be Kerr calling it quits in a couple of years. Then it's "Gone are the days...."

Oh wow didn't expect that. Can't imagine what that feels like to battle back from the ACL and be ready to go in a month and a half and have this happen. Very rough Z type feelings I am sure.

No love for their organization, but you hate to see devastating injuries no matter what.

Have to imagine that 5 straight finals took a toll on their bodies. That's just a lot of basketball to be playing, especially since Klay played in the Olympics one year as well. Even LeBron broke down a little after 8 straight finals trips.

What do you even do if you’re the Warriors? Is it just time to completely blow everything up? By the time Klay gets back, he’ll have been out of basketball for over two years.

By the time Klay gets back, he’ll be 31, Green will be 31, Curry 33, and they’re still carrying around the Wiggins deal.

The Warriors worked because they had arguably the greatest shooting duo of all-time. The odds of Klay still being that guy after a torn Achilles and ACL are really slim.

IMO, they need to find a way to move Green and Wiggins in a trade. They’d have to add picks, but they might be able to make it happen. We could likely facilitate.

The Warriors are going to have to try to clear cap space for FA next year or that team is toast. Without Thompson to pull some of the heat from Curry, teams will just make Wiggins, Wiseman, and Green beat them. Doesn’t sound like a winning combination.

Yeah.

I was looking forward to the Heat giving them a taste of their own medicine this season. Hate to see what happens with this guy. With KD coming back to play this year one has to wonder if things become more optimistic if he still looks relatively like "KD".

Such a killer injury to have when your thing is also being a great defender.

So now half of the "Big 4" from GS has torn their Achilles....I love Klay, but man Karma is a bitch.
