It doesn’t overstate the case to say Waiters was a shitty pick. The point of picks is that you are trying to predict the guy’s NBA career. Character issues are very much a foreseeable part of that. He already had a bit of a knucklehead rep in college

It’s not like Waiters has such a high ceiling either. He had a great first step, quickness, and a solid build but not many standout skills beyond that.

I can see taking a shot on a guy like at 4 if he also has a high BBIQ and plus character.

But that ain't Dion.

I dont get modern professional sports.

Steve Mills already wanting Fizdale fired? A year and a few games in? And he hired him?

Then doesn't that mean that Steve Mills should also be fired?

I'm not sure if Fizdale can coach. He hasn't had a shining start to his career. But if you hire a guy, and give him one year and 10 games and then are ready to fire him, doesn't that mean you, also, suck at your job too?

So take a look at the East. THere's only one, singular guy who can totally dominate an entire series on any contending team. Giannis.

Embiid just isn't that guy, as talented as he is.

The East is totally wide open and Toronto is 7-2 and just beat the Lakers. Like...they can legit make another run, which is crazy.

Would be incredible if they ended up in the finals against the Clippers and actually beat them. Would be a top sports story for sure.

Poor Gordo.

I legit feel bad for the guy.

Who knew such a fine figure of a muscular man was so brittle.

Mr. @Hydroponic3385, would you do Hayward?

When did Montrezl Harrell become a 20 and 7 guy? That’s insane! And Sweet Lou pouring in 22 ppg off the bench is ALSO insane. The Clips have 3 20-point scorers + Paul George + Pat Bev, Landry Shamet, and Zubac. How are they not on their way to 82-0?

They aren't on their way to 82-0 because of "load management" for Kawhi. What do they give a fuck about their regular season record? What a joke the regular season is becoming, they need to knock at least 10 games off of it.

Pretty telling the contrast between the Lakers losing to Toronto and the Clippers handling them pretty easily the next night.

second night of a back to back, their best perimeter defender got eyepoked and had to leave the game, and they still managed to crawl back at the end of the 4th.

Like, I absolutely agree that the Clippers are a more complete and better constructed team than the Lakers, but this is some flawed ass logic.

To your general point about the regular season, I honestly don't remember the last regular season that was as meaningful as this, especially in the west. Because of how level the playing field is this year, there's going to be a ton of jockeying for position to get into the post-season, and teams are playing like it this year.

Kawhi electing to take care of whatever is going on with his body isn't indicative of what has been going on so far in the season this year.

I think at this point we have to assume that Kyrie Irving is a cancerous player.
I'm not going that far, but Kemba Walker is a much better fit. He's not as good as Kyrie, but he's far more willing to play within a system.

1. He is
2. Brad Stevens is great at maximizing non superstar talent
3. As a result Brad Stevens is a great regular season coach
4. When the playoffs roll around and the superstars wake up, the Celtics will lose. They don't have a superstar.

I think Celtics get to ECF and lose.

To add to that, Fizdale has a roster out of like the 1990s - a million power forwards and almost no shooting. It’s ludicrous to expect winning results from the current roster. The front office looks like it’s trying to pass the blame to Fizdale.
