Wow. Lebron smiling hard right now.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but I will point out the Lakers have two of the ten best players in the world and the other three have fantastic head coaches.

Yeah Lakers are if anything proof of how great it is to have the two best #1 picks of the past 25 years on the same team! Definitely not a team that is about hitting on low picks

Miami was in limbo since LBJ left. But they drafted Adebayo and got Butler. They also drafted Herro who looks like a very good player.

Boston was Cavs' whipping boy when LBJ was here. Now they developed Tatum, Smart, Brown and got Kemba Walker through trade. They also have a good piece in Grant Williams.

Before tonight, nuggets never got to the conference finals with this lineup. But with the development of their draft picks in Jokic, Murray, Harris and MPJ; things are looking bright.

I agree that coaching plays a role in making a contender, but teams go as far as their best player can take them. And getting great players through the draft is the only feasible way for small market teams like the CAVS to compete.

Jokic drafted 41st LOL!

Nuggets looking great but also EPIC choke job by the Clippers. Nuggets looked pretty bad first five minutes of the 4th and the Clips couldn’t do a damn thing

PG III has never demonstrated he can be a top player on a championship team

5 first round picks and SGA for Paul George. Presti really killed it.

Presti is gonna end up getting a Boston/Brooklyn haul by the end of this. SGA alone is already a home run. A couple of those future firsts could be interesting..Leonard and George both only have 1 more year commitments to the Clippers. They don’t mesh into the dominant force they portrayed.

Obviously the coronavirus changed a lot. I think this season obviously will forever have to be evaluated in a different light. Now, everyone has to deal with it so not blaming that for LAC losing, just saying, I wouldn’t base serious long term decisions on this outcome. But the Clips are now under big pressure to deliver next season.

Remember when The Clippers voted to leave the bubble and Paul George came out with his battle with depression? After not having their full squad all season and then still being out of sorts in the bubble it feels like they never really got off. They had a good season considering everything they dealt with. No reason why the can’t advance further next season with a few roster tweaks.

Kawhi went 1-10 in the second half of a game 7. 14 points on 6-22 shooting in total. After more than a year of hearing how he’s better than LeBron, tonight is a great night.

I said this last year when he was prematurely declared the best in the world after a season in which both LeBron and Durant were injured...if Kawhi really is the best player in the world then he’s the worst best player in league history. If you can’t affect the game with your passing and make your teammates better, you aren’t worthy of that title. And what’s a big time Kawhi scoring game? Like 35 points? Please.

I already hear a ton of excuses being made for the Clippers. But make no mistake - they were the only one of the eight western conference playoff teams to not have an injured or unavailable starter. In fact they had their entire roster! And their roster was absolutely loaded - two deep at every position. Their best players absolutely choked. And Kawhi was outplayed by Jokic in this series.

Yeah, I don’t buy “pandemic season” excuses for the Clippers. Quite a number of teams in the bubble have demonstrated great team chemistry and performance. If anything the average level of play in these bubble playoffs appears higher than a “normal season” playoffs. Might have to do with not having to travel and being free of distractions. But whatever it is I don’t think that the Clips performance should be written off to the bubble. Until proven otherwise, this is who they are.

You have to wonder if Kawhi regrets leaving Toronto to team up with Playoff Paul. They likely would’ve been heavy favorites with the defense and length that they had. All season long the Clippers seemed like they were just going through the motions and thought they could just turn it on whenever. And both Kawhi and PG are only under contract for one more season. So much of the focus has been on whether AD will walk, but those two could too and the Clippers would be absolutely screwed.

Also, at some point there needs to be a conversation about Doc Rivers. His teams have now blown three 3-1 leads. The rest of the teams in NBA history have done it a combined 10 times. Three other times his teams have blown 3-2 leads. He’s been living off the 2008 championship for a while now. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets fired.

The Lakers deserve credit for drafting and developing Caruso (undrafted), THT (2nd round), and Kuzma( late first rounder). Caruso and Kuzma have turned themselves into top notch defensive players who also can provide offense and Horton-Tucker has become a very solid prospect. If you're going to throw a lot of assets at getting two big players, it definitely helps to be good at drafting at the lower rungs which they definitely are

What bit them was not having solid hybrid 4/5 defensive type. Harell and Lou Williams suck on defense so in the playoffs all their "depth" gets washed out - teams just hunt those two down every single possession so they have to put up huge number on offense to compensate. They should have gone after TT rather than Morris at the trade deadline. Of course, Doc could have played Zubac and Green a lot more and benched Harrell/Williams but he decided to go down with the ship
