I really think this game was more just LeBron playing badly than him not willing to give Anthony Davis late touches. After all AD scored the last ten points of the game. And LeBron said after the game that he needed to lean on AD this game down the stretch. But all year LeBron has been deferring to AD plenty. Like in the first game of the season when he fed him the ball in the post like a million times in a row. He has consistently been fine with AD taking shots in the end of the game including game winning attempts (even when they dont go in like in that game against Brooklyn where AD missed the game winner). The difference between AD and other previous star teammates on LeBron teams is that there really is no “my turn - your turn” offense with AD (unlike Wade or Kyrie). Most plays where AD scores still involve LeBron either making a feed or somehow otherwise being involved in the action. So it’s not like offense for one of them comes at the cost of offense for the other.

The ankle may be bothering him but that's the value of having star players. Particularly when Jokic got treated like he was made out of China this game with the refs

I agree Lebron has been clearly better then AD in getting the Lakers going offense whether it's the 4th or the playoffs. What the Lakers didn't do was get the spacing right with the usual LeIso PnR game (Caruso briked a wide open shot) when the Nuggets put the wall defense. I think it's fairly easy to counter: the Cavs would have put Lebron in the post or just get Lebron/AD PnR going. Same thing as always: if Lebron doesn't have his jumper going AND his teammates miss wide open 3's then he doesn't have the pull up midrange game like Kobe or Kawhii to create off LeIso.

I bet they just post Lebron from now on in these situations: odd thing with Lebron is his midrange jumper is good off post moves (Lebronto!) or starting in the triple threat but he never really got good at the pull up mid range

LeBron looked good last night physically to me. He played really well in the first half. Then he played like he got into a bottle of wine at halftime.

Nice win by Denver last night. They may not have enough to beat the Lakers. But, I love the fight in this team.

stats all start with $$$$ signs.

Bam Adeybo is exactly how we could and should use James Wiseman if we could get out hands on him.

I don't think Denver should "go all in" and trade MPJ for a star. He's going to be the star. Put Barton back on this team and they're maybe title favorites next year.

Maybe I’m imagining it but MPJ has great size and skill but seems to have a certain lack of intangibles (basketball IQ and aggression)

Felt like the Lakers stepped up their game last night to withstand a lot of runs, control turnovers (9 TO vs 16 and 19 in the last two games), and lead basically wire to wire. There's usually a point where a championship team has to take it to another level like that, and they did it. I don't see them blowing this lead.

There aren’t a ton of trades I’d make if I’m Denver, but I’d explore what Harris and MPJ could bring back.

Does Washington turn down Harris, MPJ, and #22 for Beal? If they want to trade Beal, they’d probably hard pressed to get a better offer.

Murray, Beal, Barton, Grant, and Jokic is a bit of a scary starting 5 to deal with. Murray, Barton, Grant, and Beal all shoot 35% or better from three.

That honestly might make them the favorites next year as they’d have three guys that could drop 30+ on you at any given time. Let MPJ become a star elsewhere if that happens.

So if L.A and Miami advance you gotta think Pat Riley/Spoelstra will be chomping at the bit to beat LeBron, right?

Might be a great matchup.
